THE WARRIOR'S REST
Sanctuary's Adventurer's Lodge & Temple of Tempus

While there have been a variety of adventuring and mercenary guilds over the years on EFU, The Warrior's Rest is predominately an attempt to see the spirit of adventure bolstered as challenges raised far and wide not only by the DMs but by PCs as well. A chance not only for adventurers to congregate but for PC Plots to be given attention and leverage in matters going forward by what can be best be called "Sponsorship".

Rather than marching to war or becoming some grand hero, villain, bounty hunter, monster slayer, gladiator, trader, or otherwise my character seeks to facilitate individuals who aspire to such heights. Tempus' dogma talks of how the faithful should Arm all for whom battle is needful, even foes and my PC takes such very much so to heart. Tempus is not a crusader as Torm, a tyrant as Bane, but a neutral steward of War and Battle and ensuring that it is carried out by all who crave it.

To that end I've established a loose network of individuals with various backgrounds and pursuits highlighting their overwhelming differences. Sanctuary is a unique and fun angle to play the cosmopolitanism of a failded surface. Warriors from across the known world are now all in one place and they can share stories, skills, talents, adventures, and work with or against one another in pursuit of treasure and glory and so much more.

Heroes and Villains alike can find a footing as newcomer or veteran with a neutral force seeking the biggest, baddest opportunities around for people to fight one another, march to glory, or simply enjoy the atmospheric RP of an adventurer's guild. A few villains I have approached IC as well as a great band of folks that have come together so far already but if you're looking to play a PC who gets neck deep in the idea of exploration, high adventure, and potential for conflict on many sides this is an opportunity for you.

In an attempt to help shift and shape some of the conflict landscape in EFU the basic idea is: Smashing a low level, under-supplied, isolated necromancer brings no GLORY or SPLENDOR in the eyes of his god to a Level 8 Paladin seeking to become a hero of legend. Just as how a level 10 Assassin carving down a level 3 Cleric of Ilmater hardly makes people tremble in the street at the mention of his name.

So as adventurers there's good to be done, bad to be done, or some in-between to be done but ultimately there's stories to be shared, treasure to be found, and ultimately all manner of conflict and war and strife and all the goods that bring Tempus' nipples standing on end.

We've a great band of people assembled already but this is a lifestyle where death common so more always welcomed.

A few potential concept ideas

For the Brawler Types

Quote- A Knight of the Red Knight adhering to a code constructed for lawful and proper battle as dictated by the Red Knight and pushing for tactical efforts and undertakings of leadership among the community (Lord of the Field a legitimate title of ranking clergy in the region so may be applicable for PRC purposes)

- A Champion of Tempus, we've had a few of Garagos but the opposite end would be warriors of merit and purpose be it campaign leaders, mercenaries, ranking watcher officers, Knights of the New Path or other sizably present military figures

- A Barbarian of the Uthgardt taking up with the lodge to find purpose and honor for his Totem in dark times fending off the influence of magical uses in the region

- Potential defensive branch watcher candidates to work aside Maldwyn

- A Battle Champion (Barbarian Perk) leading raids and adventuring enterprises across the underdark

- A Drill-Sergeant whipping all the newcomers and orange cloaks of Sanctuary into fighting shape by leading drills, readying them for heroics, and other preparation

- A Houndmaster training war dogs to protect the alleyway and Street of the Gods with faithful companion guard dogs

- A Duelest perk Fighter battling through the ranks of the Lodge seeking the most glory and possible wins for his abilities

- A Weapon Master circulating among the various adventuring parties battling his companions and foes alike for the finest treasure found in the undertaking

- Hunters and former woodsmen of the surface to work with the Stewardic allies of the Lodge in hunting beasts, slaying aberrants, and similar

- Lycanthrope Hunting rangers to aid Saline in the pursuit of the Chosen threat that plagues Dunwarren

- Seeker-Esque rogues, bards, rangers, and others getting into the thick of the melee in the fight against Slavers

- Gnomish adventurers spreading the messages and teachings of Saint Simsam, patron saint of adventurers

For the more Magically Inclined

Quote- A Skald bard, chronicling the tales of heroes far and wide assisting Tasmir with his plays and other endeavors

- An adventuring sorcerer seeking to unlock powers as traversing the world for relics of Mystryl and the mysteries of Blood Magic

- A War Wizard of Cormyr who never finished his training seeking to travel the lands and battle back threats alongside a trusted apprentice

- A Red Wizard of Thay who, after all of the enclaves destruction, takes up place to peddle wares and profit from the many resourceful adventurers

- A more traditional Battle Chaplain style cleric of Tempus with the Strength domain to do great battle in the name of Tempus

- An Archaeologist in service of Agner of Oghma aiding him with cultivating relics and museum pieces for his shrine or the House of Knowledge

- Portal-leaping researchers to travel far and wide alongsisde Intar the Traveler in works of Shandakul

- Priests, Magi, or otherwise of Kossuth or fire leaning aspect to assist Ignus with his grand campaign

- Anymore druidic or wildling folk to aid the existing steward alliance with the Lodge courting city folk to take interest in the balance and upholding it

For the shadier sort everything from Treasure Hunting Rogues, Pickpockets and Burglars, Thieves and similar the Street of the Gods is slowly turning into what looks to be a gangland turf so anything that could be associated with a criminal group like the old Lower Sanctuary gangs or otherwise could potentially find place in the Street of the Gods.

A small little side project called "The Nine Gems" I'm hoping to put together since we're neighbors with the NPC Bilby and his basement challenge for roguish sorts. You don't actually have to achieve the Nine Gem rank in his puzzle but it's just a fun monicker and name for such. With the Alley shaping up I just love the idea of some Upper Sanctuary crime style leanings so if anyone is interested in partnering on that feel free to make contact.

These are all just some real loose ideas of the general theme we're going for in the faction. It's fairly open ended on purpose to allow PC actions to help dictate matters and see things developed.
