Gotham made one of these threads back during EfU:M and I have to say, it was a really great idea to have such a thread - given the focus people have on one character at a time, they might have an idea for a concept along the way and not be able to play it because of an existing character or lack of time. Here are my own ideas:

* Worminger's union. This one is a group concept. This would be a small bunch of especially vocal wormingers who advocate for greater pay along with guarantees of safety for this dangerous line of work that feeds many of the people of Sanctuary. They're sure to butt heads with the status quo, and should they be cast out for it, they can easily become a gang in Lower with some worm-based name, or even better, perhaps they harbor a desire to see real social change up in Upper as they radicalize slowly but surely...

* Neo-Gondite priest. You arrive in Sanctuary with a heavy heart and doubts about your faith. Then you hear of the Machine and of its power and your spirit rises... Could it be? Is Gond really dead or has he become reborn as the perfect creation, a marvel combining metal and magic? Yes, it is so! It is Gond's divinity that lives within the Machine, it is Gond reborn that provides the Shield and thus the salvation of mankind! You eagerly set about spreading the word and seeing to it that the great machine is working properly and as it should. Great concept for would-be Auxiliaries.

Inquisitor

Worm King. Min-maxxed half orc Barbarian build. Runs around the Worming Caves and gathers hordes of worms to chase him around (DR would be ideal). When confronting groups of passer-bys, he will announce "WORM KING" and run by them with his horde of Worm Lords, Dukes, and Knights. If worms instead opt to attack the passer-bys he will accuse them of annexing part of his Kingdom and quickly attack them in a declaration of self defense.

I cannot accept full credit for this concept. It was a brain storm.

Garem

Servant of Dendar
It's not much of a stretch for people to worship a creature as great as Dendar. Perhaps they wish to hasten the destruction of the world? Is the Dread Army under Dendar's control, or are they part of the problem and must be fought to help Dendar completely destroy all life?
Apocalypse cults aren't exactly unheard of. Some research on similar real-world groups could lead to some interesting stuff.

granny

kobold seeking the path of shadow/night dragon disciple.
this kobold sorcerer (stalker perk) thinks that she got her blood from an ancient lineage that links her directly to Dendar. her aim is to start a coven that the only purpose will be to make rituals that would bring nightmares upon people. as everyone will be already having nightmares, she will brag about it as being her deeds and will think that her works please Dendar, she seeking to induce more nightmares. as stalker, she will be around people and other living beings (worms maybe) convincing them of a horrible destiny and thus producing fear that will bring more nightmares. she could also go around spamming sleep so to force them into falling to her crazy intents
female gnome seeking the Sisters of the Golden Hills
yes, the gnome pantheon got only males with the exception of the androgynous urdlen. this little girl at the worried gaze upon the many fallen gods seeks to figure out where the Sisters of the Golden Hills gone and to bring them back in order to save the world from the destruction. and to save the gnome gods from female abstinence
bard transmuter calligrapher temptress
she casts by writing. what she writes takes form. she writes lion upon the chest of a coward and he turns into a lion. she writes upon her neck splendorous dryad and she becomes more beautiful. she seeks to write a book upon a perfect skin... and fnd a way to keep her book.
Aethereal

All right, I have one I've been contemplating for a while and there is an immense array of ways it can be executed, or even incorporated into a greater concept.

Presenting
[tface=fell][tface=fraktur]T[/tface]he [tface=fraktur]F[/tface]raudulent [tface=fraktur]S[/tface]cholar[/tface]
Plagiarism is a big issue of academic integrity in our present day, with intellectual property rights being a legal discipline of its own. But of course, this was not always the case and nor is it in our fantasy setting, which does indeed always have a bustling writing/academic scene at any given point in time.

Below are two examples of how to apply this idea compellingly:

Requirements

Class: Any.
Skills: Bluff & Lore at least.
Attributes: Charisma and Intelligence minimum 12 each.

[tface=salt]Fake Author[/tface]

Within the libraries of EFU are the names of many authors of great works, some recorded as deceased but the vast majority are simply considered 'missing' or otherwise forgotten.

Opportunity is ripe for an enterprising individual to take advantage of the situation by crediting themselves the works of another, establishing themselves as an expert and living piece of history, riding it to fame and fortune.

Of course you must strive to constantly remind people of your work and hire some aides to spread the message of your genius/exploits in order to reach such heights. Public readings for the illiterate masses being just one of the many revenue streams of your profiteering and prestige.
Example Archetype: Gilderoy Lockhart
[tface=callig]The Charlatan[/tface]

In the pursuit of recognition or perhaps simply for the pleasures of outsmarting others, you have decided to write completely fabricated works of literature and pass it off as fact.

The guide to an obscure part of the Underdark, depicting unheard of mysteries and strange civilisations. Words of hope of a path to the surface realms where the sun doth still shine! You make them believe what you have to say/write and you adore those who try to disprove you but simply cannot.

Profit does not necessarily motivate you, but there is great opportunity in your craft. You might even just be doing this to obscure truths hidden in your works, placed for those just as cunning as you to find...
Example Archetype: Marco Polo (In the assumption that he never truly went to the China and fabricated the intricacies of the Orient)

Playing either of these also means the potential of a nemesis:

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

Inquisitor

Human whatever class who claims to be a lycanthrope, makes a scene of "turning" into one, and starts to bark and howl while randomly punching PCs in Freedom square.

Aethereal

Every culture has its own set of beliefs and superstitions, whether designed by methodical masterminds of their leadership to dictate safety, as a corollary to natural phenomena, or indeed based up truth or otherwise pure fantasy.

There are many ways to take advantage of this, especially in the glorious setting of EFU:R, where belief is fraught with uncertainty and the state of the gods is veiled from even their anointed prophets.
Examples:
The boogieman? Not opening an umbrella indoors? A black cat crossed your path? Spread salt to ward against evil?

Some ideas to exploit this and make something compelling out of it follow:

[tface=fraktur]The Myth Maker[/tface]
Here is a person who knows the power of belief, capitalising upon rumours and fears, they are capable of weaving an intricate tale that while extraordinary is entirely plausible.

Day to day activities involve persuading people of the existence of your myth and warping reports of events to fit your proposed argument. Creating a protocol of behaviour and educating people on how it wards against the myth. If you are dedicated enough, who knows, the myth just might become reality?

Alternatively, you could purposefully create a protocol which if not followed already has negative consequences and declare it as your remedy to the myth. Going further to also create fake events and encounters, or even paying people to make wild claims in support of your myth.
Additional ideas:

 • Sell wards, which can be actual spells or simply clumps of ash or some kind of consumable.

 • Conduct public rituals of warding.

 • Start a cult.
More Inspiration:
Timeless Myths

I just like this idea, because it would be cool to see a Sanctuary specific myth. To explore how a culture came to follow a certain practice or ritual.
