Can't recall if I suggested this before but I think it would be awesome to change completely how sorcerers work as follows (if we have a scripting genius who cares enough)

Sorcerer spells uses per day will work similar to how the summoning points system works and will regenerate the points pool over a period of time based on a couple of factors I.e. 1. Time 2. Number of spells cast (burnout factor).

- Sorcerer receievea 20 points to their spell pool per level
- Cantrips cost 5 points to cast
- All other spells cost their caster level * 10
- Spell focus & Greater Spell Focus will reduce the cost of a spell of that school by 1 point sf and 2 gsf

This would mean that a level 6 Sorcerer would have a spell pool of 120 points. The sorcerer could cast 4* level 3 spells 6* level 2 spells 12* level 1 spells 24* Cantrips (or a combination based on their selection of castes spells Upto a limit of 120 spell point pool)

- The sorcerer will regenerate X spell pool points every turn based on the following formulae:

X = (Sorcerers Level + (Spellcraft/4)) - (Number of spell pool points used within the last turn / Socerers level) + Sorcerers level

Example 1. A level 6 sorcerer with 20 Spellcraft and 120 spell pool points who cast a level 3 and level 2 spell last round would have spent a total of 50 spell pool points.

Sum= (6 + 5) - (50/6)+6= (11- 8 (rounded down) +6 = 9

The sorcerer regenerates 9 points to their spell pool this turn.

Example 2: If a level 6 sorcerer with 20 SpellcraftSpellcraft has cast no spells in the last turn they will regenerate:
(6 + 5) - 0 + 6 = 17 spell pool points.

Example 3: If a level 6 sorcerer with 20 Spellcraft cast 100 spell pool points:
(6 + 5) - 16 (rounded down) + 6 = 1 spell pool points.

- In the event the sorcerer achieves a negative score for the purpose of regenerating their spell pool the sorcerer will Receieve 0 points to their spell pool and be considered burnt out for the next turn
- While burnt out each spell cast will cost its original value * 2.
- A turn without casting a spell will remove burn out.
- Resting will restore the sorcerers full spell pool points

Would be cool if this was an optional way to play a sorcerer would give them a complete uniqueness to sorcerers and represent the flair of their casting style over a wizards calculated approach. Not quite sure if my math would be balanced but I'm sure it could be made to work effectively. I haven't worked charisma into the mix, it would be possible to change the Spellcraft check with charisma but would make it less tangible. Not sure if it's doable but would make things interesting!

Why can't it be ((2*sorc level)+(spellcraft/4)) - (spell point spent / sorc level)?

20/4 is also 5.

I don't know I just make up random numbers as they occur to me. So yes my math isn't 100% but you get the general idea behind the suggestion
