Playing on team nature has always been a step away from the standard fare of EFU, and it has become especially hazardous in EFU:R when the main hub of the server is almost entirely off limits to wild PC's. However, this makes nature one of the most visceral experiences on the server. It's incredibly great for PC's who have a taste for wanderlust, adore exploring the most hidden nooks of the server, and holds a great sense of adventurism for anyone willing to embrace it. There's a great deal to find as a wildling PC -- whether it's the deepest, darkest portions of the server or the rich lore tied to the Stewards and their activities over the years.

Whether you're someone who has been dubious about making a wildling PC in the past or you're a veteran that's gone through the experience before, now is a great time to get into the swing of things. There's a wealth of wildling PC's presently active, in and out of the Stewards, and they've created a great environment outside of Sanctuary. And while we all might be joined together by a general sense of hate for all those filthy shield-dwellers, everyone has their own goals and ambitions. We often come to blows with one another about how to survive and deal with Sanctuary -- everything from negotiation to killing any of the scum we can find. It's a great source of conflict and roleplay and there are presently many groups at work.

To name a few, there are:
 • Myconids
 • Stewards
 • Elves
 • "Old Ways" believers
 • Stargazers
 • Poor bastards infected with lycanthropy?????

What kind of characters fit best in the wilds? Thanks for asking, Timmy:
Alignment: Any, typically non-lawful but this is by no circumstances a rule.
Race: Any -- monstrous races included!
Class: No paladin; wizard, monk, and rogue are iffy but not altogether unacceptable.
Play Nature, do it, you wont regret it.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform anyone who is not already aware that playing a druid is badass. The DMs have really outdone themselves with scripted support for this class and I am having a blast.

One of the things that makes the druid class fun to play is the opportunity for true independence. You really can get by all by yourself, and there's always something to do, even if there aren't many other people online. Plus, wandering the server alone provides so many opportunities for chance interactions, and so far, 100% of mine have been full of surprises. I was having some difficulty getting started with this class, but good grief, I wish I had done this sooner.

Can't recommend it strongly enough.

There is no reason why Guardians and Nature should be reserved for half naked barbarians with clubs, when it could just as easily be a paladin of a fallen goodly god, a wandering bard/merchant/monk/rogue, ranger, cleric of a nature god, sorcerer, or even highwaymen fighters and the catchall ADVENTURER!.

Druids can range from savage to agrarian, instinctual to intellectual, violent or peaceful. There is so much out there for those curious enough to find it.

Due to the great neutrality of the druids, everyone of any race and alignment has the opportunity to join together or live apart. Rifts are a definite when you get evil, good, law, and chaos in a cave together, however the nature of the druids allows you to acknowledge and resolve your differences with intellectual debate or primal combat, and at the end of the day still work together for the common goal.

As plenty of people have said, the Underdark is amazing.

I'd have to disagree with you on some of your points above especially if you plan to become a Steward of the Ark.  Adventurer, Highwayman, rogue (maybe scout), and a merchant don't seem to me like wild concepts.  Sure a PC can decide for IC reasons to leave the city but it's a real stretch.  Sadly wild PCs are a certain type of cliche (for the most part) but I do encourage folks to try it if they've never experienced the nature side of EFU!  Grab a friend and make something and explore the depths/lore/plots of the Stewards of the Ark.  You wont be disappointed!

I guess it was a bit off to put Guardians and other wild based characters in the same boat, but also there is no class or alignment restriction on Guardians, just a reverence for nature, hatred of aberrations, and a desire to preserve life in its most natural form. The general point is there are plenty of reasons why non stereotypical wild classes would be spending the majority of their time outside the city. The traveling merchant, as well as a few other rogue perks, hermit monks, wandering bards, and highwayman traditionally live outside civilization. Some interact with the city more than others, and there is no restriction (aside from druids) on visiting Lower. You design your own character and how you intend to fit, but there are many options aside from Barbarian/Ranger/Sorcerer/Druid.

regardless of what has been said previously, "Team Nature" has need of individuals. With 'Sanctuary' becoming stronger than it has ever been before as 'Final Sanctuary', with the server becoming refreshed and updated in the near future, the possibilities that are held in the wilds will hopefully grow to rival that of lower and upper. I have many ideas for what can be done, and would love nothing more than a few people to help me out. Currently, however, living in the wilds is a very lonely thing. Either you are spending hours before seeing another person, running from mobs, or otherwise, it's not an easy life.

If you wish to give nature a try, I'll be here for several months if Efu is kind to me, hopefully picking things up within the next two or three weeks. Hit me up in #efu or #treehuggers if your interested.

If you ever feel the urge to visit a Paladin who has elected to go innawoods  (or innashrooms as it were), stop by the rest spot. I can't spend the rest of my life RPing cabin fever ya know?

I might get too addicted and you'll have to cull me for the sake of all.

But seriously, when's y'all playing? I'm in a GMT time, so I've usually got tuesdays, wednesdays, fridays and saturdays as times I can go hog wild on the time restrictions. Subject to change depending on RL workload of course.

I can't recommend this enough.  The Stewards are super happy fun time.  Plus, if no one else is online there is almost always something you can do.  The DMs have done a fantastic job of making playing a druid (or Guardian, but particularly Stewards) very fun even if you are alone.  Again.  I can't recommend this enough.

"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."
