The Reclaimers of the Lost Ones
The Elves returning.
“I' Tel'Quessir Entula’ien.”

Hello there! Stay a while and listen! So this is a proposal to bring the elves into brighter spotlight. I have seen Dwarves get a nice chunk of it and I had felt it was high time we had some Elves back in the spot light.

The main principle of this group to start is the desire to bring the elven society back to its previous status in the world. To aid, or guide the mourning elves into the new era, to help spiritual enlighten them. To discover what has happened to the current Pantheon.

The elves are well known to have many connections to the world depending on their abilities and species. The history of the elves is long and diverse and I am not one to call himself an expert on them BUT I hope to learn more about them from just playing them, just as I hope you will too!

Elves are currently split into two major groups, ones who have taken up accommodations inside Sanctuary, and another who split off from the Upper folk after a riot in the work mill. These elves moved into Lower forming their own community believing that true freedom and prosperity can be found below. All but one god remains which is Shevarash. It should be noted that some elves may be more in-tuned with the current dogma of Shevarash, or a mixture of the past and the present dogma.  It is currently unknown to the Elves what has exactly happened to him.

Below is a handy description of the current woes of the Elven people.

The Seldarine
Except Shevarash, the Seldarine has ceased granting spells or answering prayers. Some elves still pray to the Seldarine out of habit, sorrow, or hope.

Mourning
Effectively, this is a "faithless" deity entry, however it shows that the elven character has undertaken the practice of Mourning. In the absence of their gods it is rumored that the elven race, in their sorrow, has begun to intuit a way to move beyond mortality, immortality, and the planes themselves. The method seems to involve an aesetic lifestyle and a transcendental mentality. Elves pursuing this in life are known as the Mourning. More on Mourning is found out in-game.

The Reclaimers of the Lost Ones

Application: None really. Maybe just contact me in IRC (Liquidsonic) or iG (L.Sonic-RangerDanger)

Recommended Alignment: Probably any alignment apart from Chaotic Evil. Depending on how you behave of course, no point being a murder elf whos has no interest in furthering Elven society!
Recommended Race: Elves

Recommended Class: Any

All welcome.

Currently this group will be mostly Elven race players.
The current group goals are as follows
·        The collection of gold to provide funds for the elves who are still in mourning.
·        Clerics of the elves who wish to discover what has happened to their pantheon, what hope there is for them.
·        Seeds, magics that may help regrow a society of elves away from Sanctuary if the need comes for it.
·        Killing all threats to the Elves, regardless of who or what they are. (Including non-elves PCs)
·        Hunting for lost relics of the Elves within the Underdark, objects that may help the mourners reclaim their legacy.
·        Struggling to work with men who are speculated to be the cause of everything that has happened.
·        Creating a politic standing for the elves within Sanctuary and Lower.
·        Eventually building a lair for the Elves similar to what the Dwarves have.
·        To increase the knowledge of elven society and understanding of their culture amongst the non-elves.
·        To pass on wisdom from generations of life as an elf.

Or however you feel you may fit in.
New characters to Sanctuary can be taken in by the Garden of the Lost, who will guide them in their new life, to give them support in their mourning and aid them on their spiritual journey. While existing characters may support the rekindling of the elven society through their support somehow.

Quote“

Originally hailing from another realm far removed from Faerun in the distant past, the elves have proved to be one of the most successful and diverse races to appear on Abeir-Toril. They have taken to the lands, the seas, and even the skies of Faerun, colonizing and expanding throughout the ages. Today, the great elven realms may have retreated from the encroachment of humans and humanoids, but the elven influence in the world is unmistakable and pervasive.

Elves adapt and change dramatically to meld with their surroundings, so through the generations the various tribes of elves have become quite divergent in appearances and outlook. Despite this, all elves retain certain characteristics that set them apart from the other races of the world. Collectively, the elves know themselves as the Tel-quessir (translated into the common tongue, this means, “The People”). They refer to all other beings as the N-Tel-Quess, a less-than-diplomatic elven expression meaning “not-people.”

Elves are graceful, lithe, and beautiful. Regardless of their particular heritage, they are viewed by other races as a highly magical and wondrous people. This awe and respect has an unexpected corollary â€" many people view elves as haughty and shamelessly introverted as a race. The reasons for this are numerous, including jealousy, envy, and religious hatred. It is the nature of the elf to elicit such reactions from others, for it seems impossible upon first encountering the elves to react with anything resembling disinterest or apathy.

Elves commonly possess strong but swiftly passing passions, moved easily to laughter, anger, or misery and as quickly calmed. Elves are known for their impulsive behavior and as a result many races see them as flighty or impetuous. However, elves are not as flaky as others may interpret them to be, and are typically responsible in spite of their almost whimsical nature. Partially due to their long lifespan (though not entirely since many long-lived races act differently) elves have difficulty taking some matters as seriously as other races, but when threats they recognize do arise, elves are strong friends and allies to those whom they feel loyalty towards.

Elves make strong and uplifting friends. Most elves love simple joys such as dancing, singing, footraces, or contests of skill. Elves find a natural aversion to that which they see as uninteresting tasks and are fun-loving by nature. However, despite how unpleasant some things such as war can be elves can become grimly serious if a threat to their friends, family, or livelihood makes such actions necessary.

The Elves Language

[hide="Languages"]The beauty of being elven is being able to sprinkle some Elven words into your RP to show off your culture iG. I would suggest restraint when doing this though, don't over saturate with it since you may simply just frustrate other players doing so. It might be handy to include in your description a list of common elven words you may use repeatedly so others can at least understand you OOC!

These are currently the sites best known for the canon words and terms.

Shevarash  - Current Testament
[hide="Lore"]Shevarash
The Revenant Prince, The Last Blade of the People, The Coward
Symbol: Broken arrow above a drop of blood.
Home Plane: Unknown
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Portfolio: Revenge upon man, war with the illithid, hatred of drow, vengeance, crusades, loss.
Worshipers: Purists of elven culture, war-minded elven survivors, seekers of revenge, leaders of elven communities, proxies of the Revenant Court.
Favored Weapons: "The Black Bow" (longbow), "Our Blood" (longsword)

Cleric Alignments:
NE, N, CE, CN
NwN Domains: Elf, War, Retribution

History/Relationships: Little is known of the fate of the Seldarine during the release of Dendar. All that is known is only Shevarash's presence is still felt. Some say he left the Seldarine in terror. Many who worship him now tell the story how Correllon saved him before disappearing. They believe the elf-father's final act was to free him from his original oath, and immediately bind him to a new oath: to preserve the culture of the elven people and endlessly persecute its enemies. It is rumored Shevarash then fell on his own sword in sorrow or in shame, but he has been resurrected in either Evermeet or Myth Dranor, by an organization of elven mages waging war against the Dread Empire. They are called the Revenant Court, and their Revenant Prince now presides over them. Shevarash has no known allies left among other deities. He is enemies with all human deities, and has openly declared war on Mystryl for reasons not clearly understood.

Dogma: The end has come after thirty thousand years. We have no hope of peace. The People are now instruments of graceful and refined destruction. It is Man who has made forfeit our mothers and fathers, our ability to love, our ability to see. Now our arrows fly in pernicious blindness toward them. Destroy the drow, their taint cannot outlast our light. Destroy the illithid, never bend to the creeping and alien dread. But save your greatest tragedies for Man. Waste no time in reverie, prepare for war in the name of our ancestors. Act, without desperation, in the purity of our form.

Shevarash - Old Testament

[hide="Lore"]Shevarash
The Black Archer , The Night Hunter
Symbol: Broken arrow above a drop of blood.
Home Plane: Unknown
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Portfolio:
Crusades ,Hatred of the Drow ,Loss ,Vengeance
Favored Weapons: "The Black Bow" (longbow), "Our Blood" (longsword)

Cleric Alignments: CG,CN,CE
NwN Domains: Elf, War, Retribution

History/Relationships: In the year -4400 DR, in an event that would eventually be called the Dark Court Slaughter, an army of drow and duergar emerged from the Underdark and assaulted a meeting between the surface elves and dwarves. Shevarash was one of the few survivors. Falling to his knees amongst the carnage, the Black Archer swore an oath to Corellon Larethian to neither laugh nor smile until Lolth and her brood were destroyed
In the year -4070 DR, Shevarash the Black Archer dies, but with the help of Fenmarel Mestarine undergoes Apotheosis to become the Night Hunter and Arrow Bringer. This green elf demigod of the Seldarine is still a hunter and vengeful destroyer of drow, but now hunts Lolth and Vhaeraun directly (though he no longer considers Eilistraee and her worshipers to be among his prey).

Dogma: “The greatest enemy of the Seldarine is Lolth, who sought the corruption of Arvandor and the overthrow of the Creator of the Elves. The greatest enemy of the Fair Folk is the drow, the debased followers of the Spider Queen who long ago were enmeshed in her dark web. Redemption and revenge may be achieved through the utter destruction of the drow and the dark deities they serve. Only then may the joy of life begin anew. Hunt fearlessly![/hide]
