The Coven of the Dark Lake
"About the banks of the Dark Lake, a curious symbol is often seen. Glowing with an inherent magic it ebbs with the tides of the waters nearby. Slow, lulling, possibly unnerving. A symbol that means little to the majority, but much to a small minority. About the inky waters, a place where few would linger, there dwell a group of women that work their 'erbs in the solitude of the cavernous world below the surface. Calling on ancient magics, unlocking the powers found all around them or the powers that lay dormant in their blood. They are the witches, the crones, the wise women, those shunned by society for their peculiar habits, their unusual magics. "
Primarily a group of female spellcasters, orientated in the wilderness. A group that work together to unlock the ancient arts of herbalism and alchemy, unlock the natural magics of the world; either through Druidism or through innate Sorcery, discover long hidden aspects of the natural world and become a recognisable representation of the hermited old hags of folklore. They shun Dunwarren, finding hatred for the wizards of the Spellguard especially. Aligned in their malicious intent, they work within the frame of the Old Ways to reek their wicked vengeance on those that would cross them.

While the archetype of the Fairtytale Witch is something we can all find familiar, a little Orwellian, Shakespearian inspiration always helps.

Witches are great. The coven feel is also wonderful.

Recommended and endorsed.

But I wonder, what is your opinion on warlocks?

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

As a general group of men-hating old crones, Warlocks aren't look upon too favourably. However, that's not to say all men are the enemy.

Something to pursue in game :)

Stinky Males stay away!

:P

... not necessarily enemies, although it is going to be hard to accept them as allies.

A very cool idea altough alienating all males may just become a tad too limiting!

Still, it has my endorsement.

There's certainly room for men in the group, it's just something that I'd like to keep to a minimum.

The women involved are secretive, suspicious and wary of male dominance, however that's not to say that certain males would not find a place among them if they pursued it in game.

Looks very cool recommend anyone interested in playing an outsider consider checking this out.

Indeed! Male Witches do exist. Sorry for jesting and not being really clear.

I think although that we would have troubles with Warlocks due to their connections with demons and devils if we are going to consider the Hanbook of Warlocks and Witches. Also, at least one of the Witches has strong connections with the forces of nature, being bound by her oaths.
