The Orthodox Servitors of God Below

With its roots in Calimshan the faith of Ibrandul has long flourished above and below the surface world and in no uncertain terms was always one of obscurity. With recent events driving the world above to darkness the holy day of "Foreshadowing" is no longer required. Once long past the faithful of Ibrandul would strike out to the surface on nights in which storm clouds blocked the moon to spread and preach the faith.

With the surface above thrown into utter darkness and chaos hundreds if not thousands have fled in search of refuge and haven amongst the blissful protection of Ibrandul. While many of those who have fled into the service of the Sacred Cave of Lower Sanctuary of late a sizable swelling of figures have begin to consider what has begun calling itself the Orthodox Servitors of God Below, the true Church of Ibrandul in the Depths.

Alignment: Any, though non-good recommended.
Race: Any, though exotic races would have harder time finding place as we predominately focus on Upper Sanctuary
Class: Any, though it is always something that has been debated it may be possible to apply for even a Druid of Ibrandul


While we are pushing many overtures one of the largest aspects we are beginning to develop is the notion that Sanctuary has no separation of Church and State. While the government of Sanctuary has been largely Secular until now overtures are being made to see a variety of individuals in numerous affiliations of a political nature enlightened.

In stark contrast to the situation of Lower Sanctuary the Upper Sanctuary church of Ibrandul lends itself to a vastly different spin upon a similar dogma which has begun to stir the inklings of strife and potential holy war as Upper Sanctuary's faithful have denounced in full the Sacred Cave - of which many in Lower Sanctuary have deemed a holy site of Ibrandul.

It is preferable that PCs are Not created with the sole desire to join in on this conflict. This is something that is solely being pursued ICly. It takes away some of the seeds of dissent if suddenly a number of Ibrandulites appeared through the portal spouting a message that is vastly different from the traditional EFU spin on Ibrandul.

This post simply to shed a bit of OOC light on what I have been preaching thus far to a variety of PCs in and around Upper and to highlight that if your PC is interested there is potential for IC conversion to the flock.

Again this is something preferably for Existing Characters[/i][/b]. A potential consideration for a way to spice up a PC if things are slowing down or you find yourself in a rut and you are interested in some matters of intrigue, conflict, or similar.

It's certainly viable for the faction, but of course one must still keep in mind that they would likely be quite the outlander. The City is still unnatural, after all.

On the other hand, although there is certainly a focus on Upper Sanctuary don't be dissuaded to try to get involved if you're a wildling, exile, self-imposed exile, Lower thug, etcetera. Needless to say the RP is great from any direction, and there are certainly branches on the Ibrandul-Tree that stretch into some strange crevices of the server. ^^
