All good things must come to an end, and thus ends the Story of Highpriest Highgull of the Celestial Carp. Did he actually serve a Demon? Was he actually a thrall? Was he a madman, or an actual holyman? Who can know for certain? I shall leave it a mystery...

Carp carp... Magikarp...

Knight Of Pentacles

I really enjoyed Highgull. :] The Carp came off to me as the beginnings of a local water god worshiped for protection, bounty, etc. I enjoy fresh new takes on religion in Forgotten Realms and I'd like to see more concepts like this.

Noooooo, Carp save us!

Awesome concept WriterX, ditto on everything KoP said.

Magikarp, splash attack!

Loved this one WriterX! Really cool take on religion as a whole!

We need to see more cool religious concepts like this that don't immediately go off the deep end into evil. Nice job :)

Pentaxius

I throughly enjoyed my interactions with the Carp man, aka the Deep one idolater of the demon fish...

Kudos to you WriterX.

The Samophlange

I have a soft spot for people who try to evoke new forms of worship in an established setting, whether it is an offshoot cult or a whole new gig entirely. The Carp was pretty good, too. Simple and evocative of the kinds of early faith that happens before a religion grows. The Carp was a practical god. He had powers that were easy to categorize and addressed many obvious issues to be faced in the Underdark. Overall, I really enjoyed what you did with his background.

I'm just sorry that IC developments led so many people to come down so hard on him! I was hoping he'd stick around a bit longer, and make some more waves. If you'll forgive the pun.
