If you are playing a Paladin right, everyone should know you are a Paladin.  Tree huggers are a bit different, but there is a good chance, most PC's will know you are a tree hugger.

My druid tells everyone he's a paladin.

Epi-Spell

Hello I have just made a druid and I was told there is a way to survive the UD around level 3... Please can some one show me the ropes? My NWN game name is Epi_spell just like on this forum. I may be seen playing Arto OR Hu'jin Kim Let me know you can show me the ropes ill find an rp reason to log off and be my druid! Thanks and have a nice day!

In Faerun, a Paladin is a THING.  A thing that is known to exist.  A Druid is a THING.  A thing that is known to exist.

To me, it seems like Pandip has the problem backwards.  It's not that ignorant peasants shouldn't recognize a paladin or druid when they see one, but rather they might assume ANY overly chivalrous warrior or ANY tree-hugging hippy is a Paladin or Druid, respectively, regardless of powers used, spells cast, etc.

In any case, bottom line (not an opinion), in EfU's Faerun, people know what a paladin and druid (and bard and cleric and wizard etc) are and have a general to overestimated idea of what they can do.

Furthermore, stereotyping occurs just as often in Faerun as it does in the real world.  So a dirty woodsy guy with a bow will often be pegged as a ranger while a dirty woodsy guy in robes will often be pegged as a druid.  People casting naturey magic will be sorted into the druid pile and people shooting fire will be sorted into wizards/sorcerers.  Naked guys with greataxes will be called barbarians.

I bet if you made a ranger, didn't wear armor, carried a staff, and cast entangle all the time, people would assume you were a druid unless you told them differently.  This whole thing is one of those cases where the OOC assumptions match the IC ones.

This thread reads more like a comic strip making fun of D&D players than a conversation on how to make the game better. If the worst thing that happens to you in your day is some character introducing himself as a paladin of Trom on EFU, your life is pretty good. Just some perspective.
