Now I know on the whole a lot of things about Monk make people cringe, but the more I find myself playing one the more I was thinking: What about the withering?

A little self serving but the more I consider it the more it seems potentially legitimate. As Monks are best often described as hermits, scholars, and otherwise capable of performing physical feats would it be a break of the style or a breach of the imagination to think limited self-treatments of the withering would be a possible feat?

A -150 XP style simple withering reduction to the skill "Wholeness of Body" seems like a somewhat legitimate occurrence. It's not something so lucrative as clerics (Or to a lesser extent Sorcerors) able to heal one another. Or multiple times per day.

Simply a little flavorful and cool showing of monastic power.

Certainly an interesting idea. Personally it seems perfectly reasonable, natural and thematic.

Can a similar argument be made for paladins?

NecropolisV

however, though a good idea. perhaps  a slight change to make it just another 1x per day power they can get with the same cost that they get when they get wholeness of body yet seperate from that power simply because i'd like to be able to use wholeness of body without it taking 150 xp :P

It is a good idea, though I feel Paladins should be granted a similar perk, them being holy Knights of a god, after all. Maybe once per-day with 150XP loss to maintain the potency of Clerics?

I do not agree with the monk idea only because it -forces- you to lose 150 xp and cure withering if you do not want to. If it were a separate tool then sure.

wcsherry

Not desirable. Thank you for the suggestion.
