Tomas Marlow - "Be good, mate."

Went out the way most criminals do - betrayal. I have to admit, playing an underworld character wasn't quite as satisfying as I thought it'd be, unfortunately (though I can't get into specifics without spoiling quite a few faction details, so you'll have to take my word on it, lol). Suffice to say I don't think the setting really supports my ideal version of a cat burglar, which is how I envisioned him. And being an obvious bandit quickly became untenable, both for IC and OOC reasons.

Tomas had one overriding goal - to leave Ymph. He had unparalleled contempt for Mistlocke and it's inhabitants, despite keeping up pretenses of being a (semi) law abiding citizen. He wanted desperately to get out into the world at large and see Faerun - through whatever means necessary.

He spent a large amount of time scheming, formulating plans which really went nowhere, and mostly being by himself - sneaking, digging up graves, and going to Old Stones to get his pipeweed fix. Not the most fun character I've ever played, but that's what trial and error is for, right? I think the most fun I had with him was in combat - crossbow rogues are pretty amazing.

Anyway, shout-outs to Domare for maintaining an awesome and shady business relationship, RwG for being a partner (and adversary) across multiple characters, Clueless Noob for being a bro, and... I suppose the Mist Wraiths in general. Tomas without a doubt was their longest standing member, and probably their most paranoid - with good reason, in the end.

I have to admit I don't have much in the way of pictures, but I may look through my screenshots a little later - the only real DM loot I had was his Scoped Manchakan Crossbow, which was utterly amazing for a crossbow rogue and for which I have Howland to thank (for both the loot and providing it through a memorably awesome DM quest.)

Cool rogues don't look back at explosions. [hide=][/hide]

Tomas often made use of the Mist's End balcony to lord over filthy peasants[hide=][/hide]

On a boat. I forget to where. [hide=]

Found some pictures! That's all, folks.

Bearic

Was fun to hunt treasure with and stuff. =]

lovethesuit

This guy has been around forever. He was a mainstay of the server. Sayonara.

The Old Hack

I never could figure him out on any of my characters, but he was pretty cool and interesting to have around.

Better luck on the next one, sorry to hear that he didn't quite click!

domare

Good times plotting with Tomas.  He was fun to interact with and will be missed!

morva

I always knew he was a creeper. Just didn't know the details

Pup

By far and away the longest-lasting Mist Wraith.  I thought you just might make it off the island!
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

Johnston

Take care, guv'nor. Always a pleasure.

Pool

The cowardly, the witty, the sneaky Tomas Marlow.

God speed, you swagnificent rogue. o7

Numos

He was cowardly and scummy, but still had a conscience beneath it that showed now and again. Good job.

CluelessNoob

Aw. Silah's going to miss him! Great character man!

Aethereal

Hahaha, zombie coroner and its description!

Balthasar figured out Tomas pretty early, such is the power of paranoia - though he had the evidence too.

Nice attempt at being an obvious shady character / pickpocket at the beginning, I remember he went by nicknames until he eventually started using his real name. He did seem to blend in to semi-legitimacy after that, though it didn't help if we already knew his affiliations.

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

The Muster knew.  Constable Bebel nabbed him shortly after one of his random muggings and found his Mist Bandit gear.  He was watched. ;).

Guttersnipe

And yet Marlow well out-lived the Muster!

Good character, Ryan, I enjoyed the roleplay.
