She's not necessarily dead, but I can't in good conscience bring back a character that revolved around PC conflict after a second extended absence, especially when most of the plots and scheming that she was involved in have likely either been abandoned or already done without her. I think it's safe to retire the character and assume she's up to no good in her own obscure way or simply died in the raid on the Caermyn house.

Sorry to anyone I may have disappointed, but life's unfortunately gotten in the way. I need to make another bard, though. Bards are cool. Like bow ties. Bards might even be cooler than bow ties.

Anyway, I'm too egotistical to not throw up one of these threads in detail, so despite her brief and uninteresting existence, here's the small selection of good stuffs:

[hide="History & Purpose"]Though I never had the chance to reveal her backstory IC (not that a situation would ever come up where she'd share it) or wrote it down OOCly, I used it as an inspiration to drive the character. Audrey was the inspirational figurehead of a coup that overthrew some nameless, unimportant noble regime in the Border Kingdoms. Though she openly claimed she was some brilliant warband leader and military mastermind, the hidden truth of the matter was that her uncle was pulling all the strings and manipulating the public presence that Audrey could offer in a coup -- particularly considering she was overthrowing the reign of her father. This relationship with her uncle set up the relatively consistent pattern she demonstrated on EFU, where she would talk the talk but never quite be able to walk the walk -- unless of course someone like Elianne was around to back her up.

Audrey was formally educated, but never assimilated well into an educated culture, try as she might on the awkward occasion. Her primary interests lay in storytelling and tales of heroism, and it was her dream to imitate the tragic retainers that fought valiantly for their lords. Audrey was quite certain, however, that proper manners was not an entirely heroic trait. She was of course never destined to take the role of the hero, but it was fun to see her blunder her way into the spotlight in her own ways.[/hide]

As per usual, I don't usually spot a character's crowning moments until they're over and I've awkwardly realized that I forgot to take screenshots. Here's a few nonetheless:

[hide="Targus"]Did you know Audrey was a Targan? I bet you didn't know she worshipped Targus. Getting into this group was great fun. All of my interactions with them were nothing short of phenomenal. As always, I found that a good player faction with the right people usually makes for the best entertainment. Great roleplaying amongst these folks; thanks to Elianne and Rob and that one wizard chick whose name I can't remember for that.

[/hide]

[hide="Targan Spirits"]I don't know why or who or what was going on half the time with Audrey, but she seemed to have a knack for randomly summoning Avatars of Targus to avenge her whenever she got her ass beat, which was just about always. This happened after she lost a duel with one of the Red Knights. She was supposed to get converted to some Queen or something, but then she didn't and then she challenged the Red Knight again and actually put up a fight that time. It was a bit hectic and crazy.

[hide="Loot"]I loved this piece of armor. It looked cool, it's description was boss, and the enchantments were so awesomely geared towards the character concept.

My absolute best moments with Audrey, however, were in chronological order:
[LIST=1]
  • Finding the Strange Song.
  • Dying to a Sand Demon because I used Strange Song the one time I was not paranoid enough to be fully enchanted.
  • Getting candled, walking to the Bullbreaker tournament, and using Strange Song in the middle of her fight.
  • And then using it again.
  • And then once in the square, because.
  • And then a few times with the Red Knights.
  • And then once on a boar because seriously why not?

There are a couple of spoilery things that went on with Audrey that I won't mention because I'm not sure what has or hasn't come to fruition yet. She had, throughout her career, five vials of paladin blood, but only a maximum of three at a time. I never had the chance to do something shifty and evil for Targus with them, but such is life!

Thanks to everyone who participated in her shenanigans. I'm sure being called a prick a thousand times wasn't necessarily pleasant, but you all were good sports and made it good fun to be a petty troublemaker.

I wish I screenshotted the Spirit of Bloodlust that arose when she lost in the Mist's End Arena! Alas I was too overcome with "What is that beautiful piece of awesome rising from Audrey's body and tearing everyone to ribbons!" to think about it. She was a really deep and well developed character. A real pleasure as always with you. ♥

Audrey was a confusing person to try and understand on a character basis. She wasn't a blood-orgy killing machine that most Targans display themselves as, but she had a firm flail hand when needed.

It was a very interesting character.

I always thought this PC looked badass, even though I scarcely saw her!
