The Old Hack

Well, that was Lucita. I did not accomplish very much with her but I did enjoy playing her while she lasted. A few moments from her career:

Remus having captured a maddened 'paladin of Torm' who swore that H'Bala only wanted to save us all. This was the moment where Lucita realised she did not even begin to understand Remus; she was far more wary and respectful of him after that.

Lucita admiring the results of the productive Aberdenn Mayoralty!

Waiting outside Auld Wyrm's Hearth. This was just before one of my meetings with Rani Bégon, I curse my buggy screenshot function for not capturing some pictures of the meeting itself! >.<

Joining the Iron Legion. Great bunch of people, I wish I could have been with them a bit longer.

The resignation speech of poor Falltower. The Aberdenn Mayoralty has been one of the most fantastic epochs of Mistlocke I have played in and I am grateful to everybody who played or DMed in it and helped make it so great.

I wish I had gotten more screenshots! But my screenie button apparently hates me. I'm going to have to look into getting a good screencap program.

Thanks to EfU for making Lucita such fun! I will be coming back, I just need some time, I think.

I met her on my first day back on the server in a year (thanks for showing me the canopy). She seemed like an interesting character but I'm sad she's gone now.

:( I rather liked Lucita.  I was hoping things were going to go a bit different all the way around ... but EFU has a mind of its own ;)

The Old Hack

I just realised that I failed to mention a number of characters Lucita befriended and who greatly affected her life and the choices she made.

Ronald Fryth, for not taking her life in a situation where he clearly could have and where no-one (not even Lucita) would have questioned it if he had. Fryth may not be equally popular everywhere. But for that gesture, Lucita respected him and would no longer oppose him on his ground.

Zoe Lisette, for having more depth to her than Lucita had initially suspected and for being such a general badass.

Ranes Sharboneth. Lucita liked him and felt just a little sad that she kept turning down his overtures to having her join his House. But, what with the pole up her behind she was born with from being in the nobility, she could accept being a soldier of the law but not a merchant's guard.

Havoros Khaver, of course. Lucita greatly admired and respected him. His death came as a stunning blow that it took time for her to recover from. Weeks, in fact. And she blamed poor...

Arnold Howardson, that Aberdenn stalwart, well-meaning youth who barreled from disaster to disaster with the cheerful conviction of a man who was convinced all would turn out well in the end. Oddly enough, she first really started to like him after he had beaten her up in the street; realising that she had been in the wrong in that fight helped. Watching Arnold slowly deteriorate under Fey enchantments pained Lucita deeply and she mourned his eventual death.

Vasily, the Oozomancer. He constantly perplexed Lucita yet she could not stop liking him, to the point where she could not make herself interfere in his feud with Havoros Khaver and did not resent him for Havoros' death. (Since the blame had to go somewhere, she quite irrationally fixed it on Arnold until she came to her senses again weeks later.) Vasily's own spiral of degeneration into chaos also troubled Lucita gravely but she felt helpless to intervene.

Molly Smogson, of course! To the day of her death Lucita was convinced that there was good in the girl and made time to give her occasional treatments for her Withering. Lucita viewed Molly in that vaguely patronising way an upperclass twit convinced of her own innate superiority would, feeling at least somewhat responsible for her and wanting to give the girl 'a good example.' However, she also considered Molly important in that she would often loudly express the views of many of the common folk, and while Lucita did not agree with these, she felt it would be unwise to ignore them.

Rani Bégon. An all too brief friendship; Lucita treasured it while it lasted.

Bucky, for being a deer among deer that Lucita never noticed or paid attention to because all deer looked the same to her, but nonetheless adding life to the woods!

Then, the Order Numinous, of course. Ink, Boulder, Orcslain, Mistson, and several others -- a tempestous but very fulfilling relationship that added depth to Lucita's story.

The Iron Legion. I only got a couple of days with you guys but it was great while it lasted!

And last but not least: Faye Kendt. If Lucita had to name one person in this strange land a friend, she would have chosen Faye. Their relationship was initially tempestous but Faye won Lucita's respect when she stood by a comrade who had fallen into disgrace and was on the verge of suffering mob justice. Gradually they came to respect one another and Lucita considered her a boon companion to walk through fire and death for.

I have probably forgotten some and I am sorry for that! There's just been so many of you and all of you were awesome. Thank you for being EfU!
