Min level 2 newbie quests

The starter quests are all minimum level 2. However, you can fall below level 2 if you die in the OOC area, rendering you unable to take any of the starter quests.

There should either be a script that keeps you from falling under 1000 XP or the beginner quests should all be minimum-level 1, not 2.

How do you die in the ooc area? It is a no pvp zone without hostile enemies.

If you manage to die before ICly starting play, you can just remake the character. Its not that big a deal to perma before the character even speaks to anyone.

However, since it is possible to die during the starter quests, I agree with the suggestion. It takes a pretty epic fail to die so early, but some people are new to the mechanics or just unlucky, and if there are no lvl 1+ quests then getting to lvl 2 is going to be very hard. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That was the question! What are the quite a few ways? Can't be fixed if it's not reported, and can't avoid future accidents if it isn't made available as a warning. Normally you cannot de-level past level 2. It is a hard cap and your xp is not capable of dropping any further when it reaches the level 2 minimum.

Playing with the undead mechanics in the OOC area can lead to death pretty quickly.

I might care to point out that there are quite a few ways for dying at lvl 2 outside the OOC area...

Fact of the matter is, if you're unlucky enough to get killed by the fat rat or the marching dead or whatever, and you don't manage to finish the quest, you're going to be a new PC stuck at level 1 and unable to do any of the starter quests. It's unlikely and reveals incompetence before anything else, but being unable to get to Mistlocke by way of the vision quest through such a stroke of bad luck seems kind of harsh.

This sounds like the real problem is that there is a bug found in the new death system. In the old death system you were not able to de-level under level 2.

Getting below level 2 sounds to be a bug. That you're so eager to discover ways of dying in the OOC starting area is just amusing, maybe the death penalty is too low...
