I finally got the chance to do this quest a little while ago. It was a lot of fun, but very difficult. I, and pretty much my whole group, consumed a substantial amount of supplies getting through it.

I found the reward a bit underwhelming in terms of replacing what consumables were used - to the effect of covering less than a 1/5th of the potions I personally expended.

I suggest the reward should maybe be upped some to encourage people to tackle this quest more often. Specifically, a greater number of potions would be ideal. It's almost as difficult as Orcs II, but doesn't really reward to near the same extent. I feel this may be why it's so rarely attempted.

Perhaps giving this quest, similar to what it was in EfU:A, a gold reward in some way. I'd put this quest under the same as Orcs Part 2 and Brood Hive and neither of them give any gold worth mentioning. So adding gold on this may get more people to do it since everyone may not want or aren't able to do Mist Ogre, Kants Realm or Coral Cove to get gold once you pass level 7.

Egon the Monkey

Yeah, I'd agree. It used to be ridiculous for Cure Crits on the mobs, but that got nerfed. Maybe CSW on some of them? It's always good to see loot on the mobs at it means the scaling balances risk and reward better than endchests which can spit out stuff nobody actually wants to do the quest for.

One_With_Nature

I agree that it requires a grander reward, but I also think assassins should spawn earlier so you don't instant spot them and giving them death attack could be cool.

The Crimson Magician

In  my opinion, death attack in PvE is not very fun as the duration of stun is incredibly powerful [1 turn/assassin level].

One of my favourite quests of all time. The loot is a bit hit or miss. Then again, the XP is pretty good, and it's very fun to do, which are rewards in and of themselves.

As much as I would like to enjoy this quest, it scales very brutally and gives pitiful supplies/loot. I wouldn't mind losing three levels to this quest if I at least got a nice piece of loot or an enviable chunk of potions. As it stands, I will not do this quest without a very, very reliable frontline and a stack of invisibility potions and a bag full of bubbleberries.

chrijone

I'v seen some nice things come off this quest but only for an optimized questing group really so I'd say that if the loot could be beefed up a little please so all parties who do it get a nice reward please and not just optimized ones.

Just saying that sometimes when you get a bad reward you feel like you've wasted the time doing the quest and it makes you annoyed, when really you should be sitting back thinking. Wow. That was both A) Really fun and awesome and B) Hope they implement others like it because it's a credit to the server and the people who designed it.

I don't often comment of suggestions but that is what I had to say on the matter. Hope it isn't confusing.

The Old Hack

Oh, not confusing at all, chrijone. :/ I get you and I agree.

(Also I apologise for my very annoyed post above. Of course it isn't the quest's fault that we occasionally have loot drama, I was just feeling bitter about it right now and that made me post like an arse.)
