the most dreadful by far is an empty grave.”

Yes, I know. several of you have asked what secret deity I was worshipping, many of you guessed wrong. It was Orcus.

Why Orcus? Why worship him? Apart from the fact he's a demon Lord, and is among the most powerful demons in the Abyss, has a private army of undead, and has an incredible cult known as the Ashen Covenant, Orcus is an intriguing, and interesting deity to worship in that you can go beyond what most demon lords ask you to do, which is maim, kill, and slaughter, and pursue a more abstract goal.

Orcus is depicted in FR as a Cruel, Heartless god, yes, he is. If you enjoy playing Diabolical evil, Orcus is the deity for you, but I warn you, we've already made enemies, and conflict will come to call. In the Cult of Orcus, Undead are considered Higher Beings than mere mortals, and to become an undead being yourself is considered a rare and high honor. Most of the High priests of Orcus are Huecva, undead priests.

The Cult's Ultimate goal is this:

through ancient magic and theologies, the Cult of Orcus seeks to fundamentally change the cycle of life. undeath will no longer be an abomination, requiring the working of terrible necromancies, but the natural consequence of life. Everyone who dies
will rise once more into a shambling undead existence. orcus will supplant the Lord of the Dead because undeath will have supplanted death

The Cult has several Goals, and many ways to achieve them, here's a tidbit...though it might seem outlandish to you, but it's really an option from one of the goals we pursue.

Weight of Numbers
Perhaps the most straightforward of the Cult's competing  methods to achieving the same goals based on the notion that the best way to change the world is, well, to change the world. The Theory Suggests if the undead ever outnumber the truly dead, the “weight of reality” will tip, with undeath replacing death. straightforward, perhaps, but hardly easy. None  can honestly say how many sentient beings have lived and died since the dawn of history; it might be an impossible task, by the numbers involved, but the Cult has a solution to this problem already, and should be discovered IG

We've many other methods, ideas, which include trapping souls Between life and the fugue plane, ambitions of torture and control of the entire Island, perhaps becoming undead ourselves. So if you wish to dive into a cult with an intriguing agenda to its own purpose, join on in!

Oh yea, his Dogma.

Promise your soul to Orcus, eat of his flesh and drink of his blood, and through him you will gain life everlasting. Mercy is a luxury that none are worthy of; suffering and torment are the fuel that will empower Orcus's ascent. The worshippers of Orcus will overwhelm the world in a tide of undeath, and even the gods will perish.
