Thug perk question

In reference to the L8 rogue perk...

Thug  "Your character has survived a tough life in the  streets and the fights have paid off. You are able to shrug off some  damage and strike with more precision."

Perk bonuses: +1 AB, 2/+4 DR, +2 Constitution.

What is 2/ +4 DR?  Tried to look it up, and it seemed to suggest that this would require a +4 magic weapon to receive damage?  

I know that can't be right.

2 DR (-2 DMG) unless injured by a +4 weapon.

2 is the amount of damage ignored, +4 is the magical benefit/attack bonus needed to bypass it. So all physical damage will be reduced by 2, unless it is inflicted with a weapon with +4 enchantment (or +4 atk bonus on the weapon stats due to a quirk of how NWN calculates DR)
