THE RENEWAL OF WIELDAN
Written by Normand of Featherdale

On the date of Eleint 15th did such a miracle occur. The following is an account of the redemption, purification, and renewal of the Ordersman Sid Wieldan by the Three and One.

So consumed with the curse of the Lichess was Wieldan, that the very flesh rotted from his body. Through seductive whispers did She speak to him, beckoning him. Sultry sounds through decayed teeth, the whipping of a forked, green tongue. So did the Lichess haunt Wieldan, and so did he oppose it. The strength of the Ordersman was not to be underestimated. He was resolute and implacable, as he carried faith in The Three. But yet, he faltered, for no man may survive on prayer alone. He weakened, for no man could stand tall with such a weight on his shoulders.

He sought The Three and One, for no man may be taken under their watch.

Short after noon did six leave, who carried the Three and One in their hearts. Across the land they walked with their mission, Wieldan was to be cleansed of his curse. And so did the six walk cross The Pass. There they cut through the monstrous mists, and there did they proceed. The six arrived at the Lake of Mists, where they did commence the ritual. Wieldan weakened, for he had been deprived of The Three and One. Wieldan walked forth across the stream, to the site of the Risen. There did he kneel to the Risen, wreathed in humility, coveted by the Mist, where he asked for prayers.

"Pray, brother." Said the priest, as he raised his blade upon Wieldan, and so did the holy waters drip upon his crown. "Here, hath the Risen rose, and here hath you submerge. Out you will come, a new man, a whole man, a man destined to death." And so Wieldan did submerge. And after, did he rise. So did the mists whip and gather round, and spoke the voice of The Three and One:

"Child of the Three, they hear you.. The Risen, penance.. The Dead... With them, Unbroken, cull the weakness from his body...", and as they spake, so did Wieldan kneel supplicant. "He must bleed out the corruption...", spoke out the Mists. And so did the priest raise his blade over Sid, once more wetting his crown and shoulders with holy waters. The priest did bring down the blade upon his shoulders, where the impurities did leave, where he would be born anew. Poked upon his brow with the sword, Wieldan was marked. "So save us the Three.", spoke the priest.

And so did the six rise in prayer, where they did utter praise unto the Three and One. But business was not done. Out of the Mists, a voice spoke. "To be saved, he must bleed!", and there did they come. There did the mists whirl in fury about Wieldan, there did they bleed him of the impurity. Wieldan lay in the waters, pure. Wieldan rose, and joyously was it shouted, "Ye, Wieldan hath RISEN!". He stood upon his own will, and there did one of the six kneel, a woman. For man to live, he must be offered life, so did this woman. The mists whipped about her, and gave life once more to Wieldan. There, was his skin youthful, his eyes pure.

There, Wieldan was renewed. A new man, a whole man, a man destined for death.
