Player tool: Trail sign

I suggest that a player tool be added that would allow some wilderness PCs (druids, rangers, barbarians) to leave small trail signs (RP'd as broken twigs, folded grasses, notched bark).

These could be represented in-game as placeables. Lore and spot checks might allow a player to see who left it and how recently. Perhaps it could expire and disappear after five minutes or so?

I think this would be a neat way to represent the way that wanderers and druids might communicate and allow allies to follow them.

I love this idea.  I remember walking around as a team of stealthers before the party system was removed and it was very fun and entertaining.  Now walking around as a team of stealthers is very annoying.  This would help to counteract this and be a huge help to new players that don't already know every route to every location and are trying to follow someone.

In the case of the Watcher's item, it last fifteen minutes. We actually don't use it terribly much, but it certainly has it's uses and makes for fun roleplay when it is used.

If I am not mistaken, the way the system currently works, is such that a clean up script wipes out dropped items after players have exited the map (or something like that,) which of course means lag is reduced yet the dropping of a pebble as a signal is rather useless.

Other than that, the idea introduced in this thread does indeed have merit.
