I understand this is a benevolent and kindly gesture from the DM Team to the playerbase, and also understand the added benefit of having people online over the holidays, which of course attracts more people online.

I see this measure really disproportionately rewarding longevity more than anything else. I think at the least this XP bonus should be scaled to level ranges. As it is, 2K XP to a L5 is about two hours of questing (usually much less) while 2K XP to a L9+ PC represents weeks of advancement. Surely we can see the inherent problem here?

I think something like...

- L2-6, 2K XP
- L7, 1500 XP
- L8, 1K XP
- L9+, 500 XP

would be alot better than just a flat 2000 XP for any PC.

Damien

Take it for what it is, a kind gesture and gift.

Zborowski

Well obviously I appreciate the thought; that's not the issue. The issue is that it benefits people with high level characters much more.

DeadBoondoggle

I'd have to agree with changing it somehow. Maybe drop the XP scaling back to EFU:A style for a while and see how it works out, thus providing everyone with an already balanced scale of reward for their current character level? ;)

Bah! Scrooge! Say thank you and get on with it. There is no need to hop about and ask for a change on something that will last a week and then be over. Also the fact is that it is a nice gift to the entire playerbase.

Stop over thinking please.  Have a nice day.

It is just as easy for DMs to scale the reward than not. So there is zero reason not to do it.

Nobody yet has offered a single logical reason why L9+ PCs should advance by weeks and low level PCs advance by hours with this reward. Repeating phrases like "GRINCH" and "SCROOGE" and '"BE THANKFUL!" are not very intelligent comments.

Bearic

Level nine plus pcs tend to lose twenty thousand odd xp easier than they gain it, any how. I don't think it needs to be scaled myself, but xp is one of the least important factors of the game, honestly.

Seanzie

Here is an intelligent argument. It is a present from the team, for everybody equally to enjoy. Its as if you want to punish a level 9 character for being level 9 while the team gives a gift to everybody else, excluding them. Back to being unintelligent, just be thankful.

Guns 'n Roses

Anyone who can commit himself to play efu:m for 20 hours over the holiday deserves a same share of XP, simply for keeping it live and active for all to enjoy.

Thanks DMs!

Mort

True enough! Scaling would have been better. Oh well! Merry Christmas.
