MirrorMask

I was informed about the game and server by a gentleman I roleplay with every so often and am intersted in joining.  I often like to play in the minority, so my questions to everyone are: what classes are seen the most?  The least?  Regular races seen the least or most?  I often like playing the minority in roleplays, so I appreciate any input you can give me as an afternote to reading most of the Mistlocke Manual.

Thanks,
-MM

The server is constantly in flux, what's lacking today may not be lacking a week or two from now. That in mind...

Least seen race: Gnome
Most seen race: Human

As far as classes go, a good deal of OOC information about other PCs is kept hidden so it's difficult to say for sure. Certain classes are very obvious do to mechanics (ie arcane/divine casting, sneaking, etc) but a character's level and class are not openly displayed.

As a suggestion on a first character, I'd recommend something sturdy with a simple concept so that you can get a feel for the server, on both an RP and difficultly level.

MirrorMask

Thanks. I agree when taking a first step into a new system, to play something straight-forward and simple. Human fighter usually does the trick.

What about religious representation?  Most and least?  Ilmater in specific?

Valo56

There's no real dominant religion. Helm and the Triad seem common enough, Banites and various other evils are few and far between, or simply remain hidden. Pick one you like and it's unlikely you'll be adding more to an already dominant religion.

Jayde Moon

Why do Birds suddenly appear... everytime... you are near?

Hello, welcome to EfU!  We hope you enjoy your stay!

Spiffy Has

Pick a race, concept, and deity, and chances are you're in the minority.

Optimistic

Races in order of most frequently encounter to least: Human, Dwarf, Halfling, Halforc, Elf, Half Elf, Gnome

Classes in order of most frequently encountered to least (assuming pure): Fighter, Cleric, Ranger, Wizard, Sorcerer, Bard, Rogue

Most Common Religeons (no particular order): Helm, Torm, Illmater, Mystra, Oghma, Tempos, Cyric, Tymora, Beshaba, Shaundakaul, Kossuth, Silvanus(Tree Father)

Take with a pinch of salt though, pretty much every religeon has been represented at one point or another. Server tends towards -Neutrality-, good and evil are equally prevalent and accepted.

Starting out I strongly suggest some form of fighter that utilizes a shield, or some sort of caster that focuses on buffing others.

HEAL is used for medicine packs which are useless during combat, but can regenerate quite a bit of hp (20+ at 1hp per round) outside of combat with good heal ranks, heal + items are plentiful and common

PICKPOCKET is used for a few quests, special options, server has special systems for rogues and pickpocket in particular

TAUNT see's middling amounts of use making CONCENTRATION a valid investment even for non casters

LORE as ever, is important for identifying items, most lore boosting items are class specific so if you want to ID items or have a knowledgible character, invest

TUMBLE and it's AC boost is affected by armor check penalty, do not bother crossclassing or multi-classing into it unless your using medium/light armor.

Server is heavily CONSUMABLE slanted - spell x/day are -rare-, charges are common, potions are common, flat +1 enchantments practically non existant (making casters requisite for a balanced group). Do not be afraid to use consumables, better broke and alive than dead and rich, especially with the 1/3rd EXP penalty for a respawn. Raise dead reduces this to 1/6, costs 1500 to get an item that'll do it, a true res - which is unheard of rare - reduces the exp loss to 1/9th. Long story short, dying hurts, but DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY DEATH. Even if it feels like your coming out with less than what you started. You might lose a level but get nifty consumable items, or form In Character bonds and contacts that can be valuable for the quest train toot toot. Sadly, sometimes i've come out short on everything, but if you get knocked back down to low levels that just means you can roll train on lower level quests which tend to be financially/consumably rewarding.

Above all do not be afraid to ask questions in tells, about pretty much anything you could wonder about. Anything thats not IC knowledge is readily shared.

PS: Do not form IC cliques centered around a RWG character, he will die

Porkolt

Obviously the least played class is monk.

derfo

Welcome to the server. The representation of faiths and classes vary greatly, though I wouldn't try too hard to base your concept choice around this as you get a feel for things. Play what you enjoy, and feel free to ask around with any other concerns.

Divine Intervention

Gnomes more common than half-elves? I would disagree, half-elves are naturally very rare due to the fact they are probably the worst race.  And yeah, monks are probably the least common class, likely because being original and stylish with them requires thought and drive.

Also, welcome to efu.

MirrorMask

Thank you for the helpful information everyone.  I had a half hour excursion into the game last night and am still figuring controls.  Haven't found mistlocke, we'll see if I get myself murdered along the way ;D

Spiffy Has

Tell me who you play and what your IG account is. I'd be happy to help you get familiar with the server. hit me up on IRC, IRC Name: Thomas|mIRC
