Upperdark!

Greetings everyone, new (old) player here, played some on EfUnderdark a while back and am back now to check this awsome looking new scene!

My InGame account is 'gafniuri', currently playing with Jaric Sled.  Just wanted to say hello and pop a question, if anyone might have any insight on the topic - I'm constantly having bad lag on the server which gives me a real hard time playing, my internet connection seems to be fine.  Any advice would be most appreciated!

Thanks, see you InGame!

Hi! Hope your liking the new EFU.

I had to turn off most of my shadows and grass and water effects.  My lag was terrible at first and sometimes it still gets bad.  It was much better after I made those adjustments.

Thanks for the input, I tried playing on min effects but that doesn't seem to affect the problem.  Are there any other adjustments I could try  to fix the problem, or do you reckon its just my internet connection to the server and there's nothing to do about it ?

If it's internet connection, it means everything works slowly, and with delay. If it's actual glitchy graphic and game, then it's something else.

I'd suggest checking firewall, ensuring that windows firewall and all such allow the program fully through and connection coming back in, then check out your graphic settings. Take off water/lava animations or so.

Welcome, hope you enjoy your stay.

As far as your lag goes, what exactly is happening? A weird but strangely effective fix for some people is to go into advanced sound options, select Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio, and move the 2D - 3D slider all the way to 2D. Hope this helps you.

Don't forget that thing with the dual core processor affinity.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my reference to lag, the game works fine, no glitchy or graphical issues.  It's everything's response time that is bad, opening inventories, texting, walking around and the worse of it all, combat.

Can you explain please?

I remember you. Welcome back!

Hi there, if you are using a modern Nvidia gfx card then make sure to update to the latest drivers. The last update fixed an issue that made Neverwinter Nights unplayable without a program that would intercept certain openGl calls.
But if it is  internet lag then that wouldnt be your problem. but thought i would suggest it as it was something that annoyed me for over a year.

I am also new by the way. just joined the server again after a year away from it. Looking forward to getting back into the plot and fully finding out what happened since i left, which was when the Bastion of Light fell apart. Not sure if anyone still remembers them. Anyway hope to see you all online soon :)

Welcome back, to you both.

And discovering the aftermath of the Bastion of Light's disbandment etc is going to be tough, but there is one PC still about back from those times. He is a farmer of Oghma and he wields a scythe. With that said, your PC is likely retired so you'll have to just start new in a truly fresh take on EFU.
