Early in my EFU Career I made a 13 charisma Duergar rogue who was an "Art Dealer" in lower sanctuary who in fact was a thief, filling hollow statues with gems and relics.

As time went on however and matters turned more grim he styled himself a "Freedom Fighter" with a mister Joe Boggs, taking over an old abandoned Drow Headquarters as a base of operations for semi-terrorist efforts. These efforts were planned to take on the Ledskyr Moneylenders who had been ruling Lower with an iron hand.

While near an alleyway a Shakedown was overseen. In effort to aid two people being shaken down by the notorious Battleload, a Coughing bag and some other trinkets were thrown and a small scuffle was had.

Outraged that they had been hit by the coughing bag, the two people he was trying to save from being mugged ended up joining Ledskyr's boys in stomping him down.

A few moments stick out:

In the earlier days of EfU:A, Mort ran a quest for Nivik (Plum) and Fipya in which the two of them alone descended deep beneath the Ziggurat and gained some important hints/clues in regards to the Nightrisers and other mysteries of Ymph.

Eventually we found a room where some Nightriser was plugging away at some ancient Netherese computer or something.  I think it's the first time I heard the word darkening.  I also think that the Symbiants or whatever they were called (white skinned lizard men and their sperm babies) were sort of introduced there... but I could be wrong.  Was the first time I saw them.

It was probably my first special DM adventure in EfU and it's something I'll never forget.

Another memory I will always take with me is an adventure involving the group Roslyn Honeysapper descended into the Underdark with.  An amazing cast, I do not think I could have been in better company.  Veteran C, Caddies, Staring Death, Wern, and others...

From beholder near TPKs to dueling Drow Weapon Masters, it was an epic journey.  But one of the things that made it special was an incident that actually pissed me off quite a bit.  We were attacked by a gang of drow, scattered, and many of us killed.  I had managed to hide Roslyn but a drow ninja zombie pirate found her and wasted her.

Bottom line, from my perspective was that it felt like a bullshit DM railroad gank, and I bitched about it.  But then I ended up eating crow when it turned out that the DM turned it into a marvelous, well run plot that won't be forgotten.  I learned a really big EfU lesson that day and grew into the community moreso than I had before.  I don't know who ran that, but thanks so much for it!

Finally, mentioned before:  When Aishe and Camille rushed to Trenada's side when the Count betrayed him.  That whole sequence of events was amazing, and after playing so many nature PCs, it was extremely rewarding to see my first Stygian do so well.

Keep rock rock rockin on, EfU.

If we want more specific, I'll tell a story! Playing Kiyiya Minqua, there was a Werewolf PC around. We were both like level 4 when we first met and he spotted me through my stealth and came out of stealth himself to howl right next to me- I, not really paying attention and hunting a few deer in the starwood, promptly shat myself and we both started chugging potions.

After a pretty intense duel, I managed to make him run away. Later, though, we were both stalking the city and, suddenly, I spotted him- and seconds later, he spotted me. Another intense fight, this one bringing in a random passer by. I drank an invis, so he downed the player in the hopes I'd come to his help. Both of us hidden, circling a subdued character, an amazingly tense and dramatic moment, especially more so considering I was basically out of supplies but couldn't leave the dude to the werewolf.

Then, months of nothing. We both knew the other was on, we both continually stalked the forests looking for each-other, but, higher level now, our stealth was much better than our spot/listen. I never forgot my furry friend though and regularly patrolled. Then! A long, long time after our first few duels, I spotted him again. This time, I had the upper hand but, remembering him coming out and howling the first time we met, I appeared behind him as he aimlessly stalked and screamed "AIIIIEEEEE!".

After this, we fought a few more times in the Starwood; but no matter who won, we just didn't have the strength or supplies to subdue the other. It was pretty evenly balanced depending on our supplies and I made sure always to carry magic weapon stuff on me, even collecting GMW stuff.

But, yes! An amazingly intense rivalry and one of my funnest experiences on EfU, between two characters whose most complicated conversation was screaming and howling. Not being a very PvP heavy player, it was really something new and fresh and really showed me what could be gained from adding that level of risk to the story.

And even now I still have no idea who played the Werewolf!
