well i have not played here since it was in underdark but when i looked over at the Introductions and Group Management

it looked like there were a ton of factions, of couse maybe u are only referring to the former dm sponsored seekers, spellguard, etc.  Each faction fell on hard times tho, and had times they were *the* faction. I remeber when someone told me watch was dying, then bam tons of people joined and dms got active, players got active and off it went.

I am sure the factions here will hit the same loops of up and down.

In mean time enjoy the wide wide variety of player factions. I know I will :)

Before this thread fades into oblivion.  Gwydion, I hear what you're saying, I think that there has been a loss of a few DM's of late, Johannes saying he won't be around much as well as Lado being MIA.  I'm sure their loss has alot to do with the apparent lack of drama.  I know I have a PC in the Malatesta faction and we're kind of floundering a bit without a DM.  I have faith that it'll pick up again though.

In response to Cruzel, my man, you know I love ya but I don't agree.  I was a bit left behind in the downfall of Sanctuary (though Meldread got me involved towards the end, thanks for that) and I still thought it was the most amazing RP i've seen so far to date.  The willingness to completely disrupt things on this server is one of the strengths.  Look at the epic'ness of the story during that time, amazing.  I imagine the spellguard and watch members had an amazing time.

Let them try to do something new and interesting. I don't want to see the same or even a similar power balance as we did before, because it'll just mean the exact same plots happen again, except the names are changed.

The server is also in a slump for Real life, unavoidable issues, and will make a return to excellence within a few months. Just relax, sit back, and wait for people to have more time on their hands.
