Gnoll taunt

Perhaps these could be changed so that only the Tantekurashes and Fanatics use Taunt. Right now, you get rushed by a horde that taunts you, with one inevitably getting lucky. If it was just the elite gnolls, there would still be taunt but as a feature of the elite, dangerous mobs. Right now, between the Taunt spam and DEX bug from the web bolts, it's easy to lose 12-13 ac and there's no good way to stop it besides really high conc and relog spamming.

While i like the fact NPCs taunt now, and i love the idea, the quest should be tonned down apropiately now that enemies can give PCs up to -6 AC.

No, not the combat taunt speech, they actually use the Taunt Skill on you, The AI is really good these days. In fact I've asked a DM last week if they were posessing when nobody was :P.

The thing is, Taunt is a very powerful skill. You get 1d20 + your taunt skill vs their Conc +1d20, and that means that when a bunch of them spam it on you each encounter, you're bound to end up with a permanent -6 AC from lucky strikes. Worse if you're playing a rogue or something that can't even take Conc. If Taunting was only on a few tough mobs it would make them more of an Oh Shit Moment, rather than mean everything has effectively gained 1-6AB. I realised how tough this was when my PC was taken out in 3 rounds by the web bolts and taunt spamming destroying his AC.

The new AI makes things more interesting and combat less predictable, and when everything has it, it's a bit overwhelming. Quests where everything taunts you or summoners suddenly each have an army just took a big difficulty increase.

I guess getting stuck in place would negate the ability to run away from Taunt. But I still think this is absolutely a valid tactic and should be used more often by NPCs and PCs alike. HARD MODE ACTIVATE
