Druid - friendly summon theme options addition

Ooze.  This is the only summoning theme I can think of, available to arcane classes, that wouldn't lead to being pk'ed by the druids.

There's animal, but that includes cats, and the stargazers would likely pk for using cats in that way.

Technically all of the elemental types are planar outsiders, as they come from other planes.  An earth or fire elemental, for instance, is just as much an outsider as a devil.

As far as I know, arcane classes can't choose the other nature themes at creation, can they?  The other animal and plant themes aren't available to them.

There is also a real lack of warning.  There should be a sign added near the summoning customize table stating the themes the character might get full damaged for picking.

Players that haven't been around wouldn't know about that, and some that do might just not think about it.

Really? Elemental druids are big fans of the elemental themes, as are nature sorcs. There's even druid only summon items for them. I think you're mostly bitter about being attacked by a Loony Zealot PC. What you can summon is dependent on your specialisation, by the way. For example Illusionists get Illusions, Necromancers get Spirits and Shadows, conjurers and sorcs get anything they want. Also around possibly hostile PCs you can use permanent reagents to change the theme.

There's:
Elementals
Rats
Snakes
Natural theme
Spiders
Plants (App only theme)
illusions. They don't break any druid convention and a 14+ wis PC like any druid should easily be able to notice an illusion if it's pointed out.

TBH Ooze is one of the themes that PCs are *likely* to detest if not exactly kill on sight. They certainly would people up when I played a Ghaunadaran. I'd say the hostile themes are Demons, Devils and Undead. Druids probably consider Furniture unnatural and would attack it, too.

Divine Intervention

It actually says somewhere that elementals are strongly linked to nature and ok with druids.  Also, I doubt a stargazer would kill you for using animal domain summons, they aren't real cats as far as i'm aware.

Although it is not natural for elementals to be forced to exist on the material plane in such a form we do have DM ruling on it! Check out this page and see what the general opinion is on some of the more commonly encountered scenarios.

Does the spider theme still summon an undead spider at level 3? If so that's about the only theme egon mentioned that couldn't be used. I also wonder if the mephits of the summon creature I & II earth theme are considered elementals or outsiders?

As far as I know, these were fixed some time ago [link]

Ooze is app only now, or reagents, not available as default.

Spider Theme was indeed fixed.

And depending on YOUR concept, druids may or may not oppose your use of summons (unless as stated, undead devils demons etc...)

A druid would PK a sorcerer who rps his summons as enslaved elementals for example.

Things such as Spiders, snakes, plants aren't available to an arcanist, afaik.

People are free to interpret the Illusions, someone eager to pvp can indeed decide either that their character thinks the demon/undead illusion is real, or that for someone to use illusions of them must mean they like those things.

Animal summons are indeed creatures taken randomly from somewhere on the island to obey the caster I believe.

If Ooze is gone, that just means the Elemental themes then.

Paha

Spiders, snakes, rat, plants etc. They are very much available to arcanists.
