Firefly didn't finish a season. Arrested Development only finished 2. MTV is still making The Real World and Jersey Shore. And AFAIK they're still making Mad TV (or hell, even if they're not, it still existed. ugh.) Clearly, TV producers and audiences are trustworthy in recognizing the merits of fine television.
