Doubleswords

[Divine Intervention]

As I am playing a pc currently using this weapon it has made me notice how hard it is to find one even slightly more useful than the standard shop loot.  There are plenty of diremaces and doubleaxes scattered through various quests, yet I know only of two different double swords and one of them is near impossible to get hold of.  Could perhaps a new one be added as a drop?  Even a different skin would be nice to add some variation.

Really now, it shocks me that you and all your brothers seem to think you know the drops for quests better than we do.

I like having some rare and unique items remain rare and unique, so that people cannot build their entire character around the (for instance) "Blackstone Arbalet", though no doubt after a while people eventually clock on to what weapons drop where.  Perhaps you are not looking in the right place.

D_I they deffinately do drop, i've seen two in the past few days. Just nobody picks them up because they're too heavy to cart around :P

Really though, I've never assumed better or even vaguely equal knowledge to the DMs, just informed hunches. all I've ever said and what DI's saying here is:

"I have spent a couple of years playing EfU and done the majority of quests on the surface many times. I have seen what is advertised for sale from PC plunder and NPC stores alike, and X appears to be rare to non-existent.  The number of observations makes it more likely X is rare than I and other players I've talked to have missed all the looting and trading of this item over this time. I could easily be wrong, but I'd have no way of knowing it, so it's more logical to ask, even if the answer is "they are plenty common, but nobody does the quests you can get them on, go and look".

Because of the assumed lack of any variant of X, players rarely use it, as a similar weapon suits the concept as well and is easily available, so you aren't stuck with inappropriate equipment. This makes characters less diverse, but could be easily changed by adding one that is on a high-traffic quest so it feels available, or confirming they're around somewhere other than the end of Iron Nails or some other rarely-done quest."

Or how about keeping rare and unique things rare and unique so that not ever man and his dog uses it?  Variety is the spice of life.

I don't pretend to know the server better than most people, what I was saying, is in my experience I have found very few, closer to none of these weapons.  I probably am looking in the wrong places or getting really unlucky, but you don't know until you ask or suggest.

The blackstone arbalat is quite nice. Harder to get than some other weapons, but for good reason.

Double sword is by no means a "gimped weapon" I'd almost say lets see more magical dwarven war axes dropping from random quests than double sword.

Really though it's better to just pick a weapon and use it. If you're about for long enough and proactive a very nice weapon of that type will fall into your hands sooner or later.
