A war below you eyes

We all know them, we all love them, now it is time to join them. Who is it I am talking about? Look a little closer and you might find out.

There are four minor factions that nobody bothers with. These are you local inns, taverns, and pubs. The Wanton Wastrel, Kingsman Tavern, The Hanged Goblin, and the Touch of Class: all factions that need people.

The concept involves these factions fighting for dominance, popularity, expansion, and for riches. What I want to see between these factions are sabotage, events, deception, and dealings. For example: A wastrel employee going for manager who would sabotage his opponents inns and bring new people to his own inn for true entertainment. Just because you work at an inn doesn't mean you can only hold small events like sing offs, drinking contests or tournaments, but aim big like expanding the inns.

What this concept brings to efu:
-More tournaments
-Cooler additions to inns
-Remarkable conflicts
-Influence

This is not a call for lowly waitresses and waiters but a call for conflict between these factions. If I could I would be playing a character of this concept but alas, I have little playing time.

So think about making an employee at any of these factions, and flourish. Through peaceful trade, or poisonous sabotage, find a way to have fun with players.

When I say expanding I mean adding more bedrooms, purchasing new in-game features (Mini-games: Royal dragon, scripted arena fighting, Drunk Darts, purchasing whores, and drug dealing), creating more rentable rooms, greater wages, epic statues, new drinks/drugs, and new floors even. Make the inns something that strikes your guests in awe. Make us perfer your place over the other inns.

Having played a Kingsman PC and one that worked in the Wastrel on occasion, I have to say that Kingsman's Staff is probably the hardest, although a lot of fun and the most open. The Wastrel and Goblin can hold ever-popular fights. Kingsman has a theatre that the Staff can't actually access, and a gambling room that's rarely used due to chat spam resulting from it.

I'd say that it's worth apping for, but you have to be more imaginative than the other pub factions and come up with ideas external to the inn itself. Kingsman offers the least space to hold events and no options for combat. The upside though is that Good or Lawful PCs can fit in there, and it's got the most PC traffic through it usually, so it's easiest to get some RP going even if just by stepping outside and saying "Why not come out of the rain and have a beer?"

I approve of the spirit of this idea, if not the actual idea.

The setting could really benefit from some culture.

It's definitely accessible now and that theater is entirely set up to be run by PCs.

Howland, I may just app for the Return of Danny Crane, for that :D.

Having played characters that worked at 3 (Kingsmen, Touch of Class, and Wastrel) I can say this is great fun.

The chance at RP and conflict is great here.  Have fun and think 'outside the box' for the Kingsman, there is a huge arena out in the ruins that could be used for 'events'... Then go Champ vs. Champ. (Kingsman vs. X)

This is a great idea.

Please do this

Also, yes, the spirit of the idea was for people to become employed at the inns.

Kindly do so!

I am so glad I read this thread. I love this idea.

Wanted to refresh this! I am very busy lately to play full time with a concept but for this idea here are some cool things chars could do:

- A drug dealer working at the Wastrel. After many sales and tournaments he has made enough money to actually purchase a Drug seller for him
- A kingsman worker who expands the theatre arts, adds new gambling games
- Hanged goblin monster who wishes to create a haven for those hunted inside the goblin
-Womens right activist who uses the Touch of Class as a way to group women together
