Dominion Harvesting System

With the Current coming famine, I think it would be appropriate to place a system similar to that of the Exiled Camp, and Stargazer areas respectively. You set out into the wilderness, and come back with meat and berries and water, and you get points for the quality of it all.

In return, you get certain item rewards, potions, etcetera.

Instead of gold, you get decent equipment, this system would favor the civilized ranger and reveal how desperate the Duchy might have become.

+ it would promote conflict as plants and animals become scarce...

+ DMs can keep track of how much food is actually harvested to portray how things are going

The biggest reason those quests were added was so that the wilds PCs could gain supplies and such more easily. I'm not so sure that the rewards should be the same for a Colony PC since they already have a lot of low levels quests easily available.

I think it should more be a thing for people who want to help the Duchy, and have little to no reward outside of doing something charitable. Afterall, the adventurers really aren't the ones starving or poor.

I think this could potentially create a LOT of conflict and roleplay opportunities.

As far as balance goes:  just limit the power of the rewards!

Two thoughts...
  I agree with Ghost that wilds hunting/ gathering is b/c of limited low quests etc.
  Couldn't this be handled IG.... someone saying "I'm putting out a donation basket (isn't there one in "newcomers tower"), don't take from it unless you need"?  (personally my feeling is that the collection and "useless" bags in the wilds are used more in the communial sense of take if needed, leave if have extra, don't hoard, share..... of course this may be changing as others venture out... however I'll handle that IG

There are donation baskets for food in the Ziggurat already. Not scripted yet, not sure if it will be.
