New Forum Suggestion - DMcan view, PC's post IC developements

Ok, I had this idea on my way home. Maybe some people have felt a certain disconnection between the PC's and DM's. It may or may not actually exist.

What I think may help alleviate that feeling is a forum where you do the following:

Create a thread entitled your Character Account, character class, race, and character name. Then, in that thread, you periodically update the thread with new posts, letting the DM team know what you have been doing IG.

Example:

Vlaid - Goblock - Goblin - Wizard

"Hey guys, Goblock has been doing a lot of this or that, scheming with so on, and has a rivalry going with this guy because I stole his dog and neutered it."

Then, as time goes on, add more posts explaining other relevant details. This could help the DM team as a whole keep tabs on what people are doing. If you don't post in it for over a week, the thread might automatically get closed as an inactive PC to help save on clutter.

There would be no expectation of feedback, and it would be used solely for DM's who were curious what a PC has been doing, to look up what they have been doing (if they have created a thread like this).

Hope the idea gets some positive feedback, look forward to hearing what people think.

I support this wholeheartedly, but fear it will be ineffective due to the DMs simply not having enough time to pay attention to this sort of stuff.

The idea isn't that they should have to read every single post, but if they want to read up on something specific, they have someplace to go to easily get the information.

Mort suggested this some time ago. I was sceptical because I didn't think players would use it (or worse, use it for journals).

Well nothing bad can come of only a few PC's using it. Only good can come of it.

Worse case scenario, only a few people who are dedicated to their PC's keep you guys up to date on what they are doing, with a smattering of threads made by PC's who make a thread and then never post in it again.

Best case scenario, it becomes a thriving source of information on what is going on in game, without having to be in game at all hours to see it.
