I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but, is there an app for the iPhone that allows me to go on IRC? if so can someone tell me the name of it?

Lenthis

Its called... the interwebs!
Or maybe not.. can we acsess irc threw normal internet?

Seanzie

Lol I love how you act condescending, then go "at least I think so" (: no, you cannot.

Seanzie

Okay, so I think I can acsess it, from the Internet, but #efu doesn't take me to the right channel. So which should I do?

I suggest forking out a few pennies for "Rooms" (I think it's like.. a dollar?). It has so many bells and whistles, it should cover you for all your iPhone IRC needs.

But the problem is that because of the nature of the iPhone, if you quit, you DC from chat. If like me you've jailbroken run it with the backgrounder and you'll be fine.

I remember you mentioning this, just... I forgot what it was! So thank you sir. Cluckyx

Question- I just bought it, but I don't know how to find our comfy IRC. pls help meh

I myself will never touch apple apps. It's one of the greatest scams in modern world.

They have actually made the people and developers to pay -them- , the Apple, to be allowed to make any apps in their iphone. They get free software and are paid for not doing anything. It's so hilarious that I just wanna laugh at people who do it, but I myself will not touch it even with a long stick.

I couldn't find any apps but using mibbit.com works fine.  As Cluckyx says though, change tab for too long and you are disconnected.  On mibbit atleast you change thE the bar thing from mibbit to Darkmust on the login page.  Channel #efu and then click join.

I did some research on the matter myself yesterday actually, and I stumbled upon Colloquy - It seemed to have gotten rather nice reviews, but I haven't tried it out yet since it costs a buck or two. Anyone who used it care to give me a quick thumbs up/down?

Don't forget, iOS4 supports limited backgrounding. Dunno wether it applies here.

I went from Colloquy TO rooms because Colloquy isn't that good. Just for along time it was the only IRC client on the app store at all.

I put Cluckyx on to Rooms.app and will receive all credit. Thanks :)
