I'd have to agree that the Sons and Docks in general don't remind me of the sort to have wages, but rather if you do a good job you'll get a cut of the loot and if you do a really good job you might get some wages.

I've always thought the docks should adopt a Duchy style military/guard force, with the Sons as the elite, and some lower militia that is much larger and present than the more elite Sons. Just like the Loyalist Militia, though, there's no pay, and I don't know what they'd get as far as armor, maybe nothing.... Anyway. *shrugs* Just a thought.

Son's do not need wages to run gangs. The gang can just about afford to pay its favoured sons a wage because they are respected leaders.

DRD is right, don't change this.

Might be cool to just give them a ranking system with factional perks that aren't wages. I thought the reasoning for the wage system when it was introduced was so that "social" characters who concentrate on doing their civic duty don't become broke by playing their character correctly in a non-quest-stomping way, ie, stopping crime and busting law breaking skulls.

Yes, the wage allows for one not to need to quest- that is it's real advantage.

5 gold every 27 minutes, get rich scheme, no questing needed ??

It certainly helps a dead area of the server to be promoted by instant gratification, something a ton of people seek when hopping on board with a concept.

This makes no sense IG and would only be implemented oocly just to give the Sons a wage because people complained that the band of street thugs didnt have an organized way to pay them and those street thugs do not feel like earning gold in other ways so now they need a wage just too get supplies. ): I can understand the Sons giving rewards to its members occasionally when they do something good but a salary makes no sense.
