The Old Hack

So, this came to me yesterday while playing...

I had just run to the Docks with my character Snow to start picking up clay for the quest Clay for the Clay Man. So I hit one of the clay spots and promptly got the message that I do not find anything of interest. My first reaction was, "Aw, is the quest bugged again?" My second reaction, following right on the heels of the first one, was "Errr, maybe the quest would work better if I had actually remembered to take it from the quest giver." *facepalms*

Then there was the time a long time back when I was DM on another server. I logged in one evening and to my surprise found that I was the only player online. I wondered a little about that but figured that maybe the server had just come online again after a crash. Time passed, I was still the only one on and I wondered more and more what in the world was up. Then I remembered that our head dev had created a copy of the server for testing purposes the night before and asked us to log in and test some stuff, and that my Direct Connect button was still pointed at the test server... *facepalms again*

...while I realise it may be a bit much to ask people for stories about how they made asses of themselves, anyone else have anything funny in this vein?

Loghaire

Back when I was head dev on another server, I rebuilt a lot of things, had a copy of the server, and was the acting head DM, but then the owners disappeared for some reason, and the one who hosted for us only appeared when the server crashed, so I was left stranded with a server of people getting angry about no new updates that they had been waiting months for. Eventually the server went down because on my fifth attempt to grab the hosts attention by crashing the server, it just never went back up, and the host didn't make any more comments. I also accidentaly deleted the module from my folder, and the president wouldn't pay attention to me. Sad times... Use to have a lot of people...
