I hate it when jerks troll serious threads too.

Great thread...
I think I have another to add to the list...

Having got some idea on what you want to do on your Bard, you'll likely be thinking how to create a concept around that. There are many, many ways to play awesome bards, but here are a few classic concepts that should help you get into the class.
the Loremaster
This bard is chocked full of both useful and useless knowledge. This well read PC has a bit of an eidetic or photographic memory and can tell stories, give a history leason and inform you of things both fact and fiction on most anything they've read. His bardsong consists mostly of calling out information on strengths and weaknesses of the enemy letting the party take advantage of the foe. They also tend to be awesome at reading runes and identifying magic auras...
The build is based on intelligance, lore and buiding the spell side of the bard class, (of course gnomes make great loremasters).

Good stuff Egon. When people have made additions / comments maybe tweek your original thread and ask for it to be stickied?

Me too actually, being a bard can give you a million different reasons to be involved in plots, to organise events or even just RP your face off by bumping into people in the street. It's also a pleasant change from the gritted veteran, grumpy wizard, zenlike monk or just plain bastard orc barbarian.

Quote from: Winston Martin;192242A fine guide for barding. Here is a tip you may have overlooked.

Force rhyme into your normal dialog, no matter how out of place it may sound. This will show others you are a bard without having to tell them you are a bard. Thereby following the literary rule of "Show don't tell."

Little known fact:

Fezzik was a Bard.
