Upon my recent return to NWN, I am currently running Ubuntu 10.04 on my Desktop. Seeing as the Linux Gaming scene is pretty microscopic I was lead to wonder how many other players did it from a linux base.
Considering my absence, I have no idea what shape the efu player base is in now, so it would be interesting to see.

I have three different machines on which I play.  One is a MacBook Pro running MacOS X, one is a Dell PC running Windows 7 Ultimate, and one is a Lenovo Thinkpad running Ubuntu 10.04.  I play most under Ubuntu, but do sometimes play on the Windows box.  My Mac is getting used less and less.

On Ubuntu, I use the native binaries to play the game, and Wine to run the toolset.

In order to get nwn running well on a gentoo laptop, I had to turn off the automatic harddrive spindown with hdparm, but otherwise it worked there, even with alsalib driving sound

Runs without modification in Ubuntu 10.04. I'm having no problems with it so far. Only times it has been a pain in the ass is with an ATI video card.

Just a quick update in the hopes that it may help someone.  On my Dell I7-based desktop with a low end ATI video card, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with all of the latest updates.  I just upgraded to the latest version of Crossover Games last night.  Running the *Windows* version of NWN under Crossover Games, I'm getting a perfect experience with the base game, DM client, and toolset.  It's better than the Linux binaries as it seems to fix the long-standing audio stutter issue I've had running NWN under Linux.  It also allows me to run in windowed mode and the toolset seems to work perfectly.

Hope that helps!

Audio stutter can be a pain, but I've only had problems with it on the music. Meh, I prefer running my own music :D. It runs fine and speedy in Kubuntu 10.04, and I'm currently using Wine for the toolset.
