ShiftingAllegiances

... I could go on and use other words that all relay the same thing, but I won't. Instead I will move on to my short little rant where I shall attempt to be as polite as possible.

Please, for the love of all that is good, stop all that crap.

Lately, there has been a great deal of complaining. I had thought to go through the threads and call you all you out by name and even link your -retarded... apologies, I slipped, won't happen again- interesting, to say the least, whining posts but that would be very harsh.

So here it goes. I could not force myself to read all your posts so I won't get to direct my attention to all but here are a few things I have noticed-

First off, factions are dull? Lack creativity? You have to be flippin' kidding me. These factions are pretty amazing and the fact that you dismiss them before even trying them out is insane. "Well I want to make my own faction! Blah, Blah, and Blah." Great, go ahead. Why can't you be in the Malatesta family and be secretly funding a PC faction that you lead with its own goals and intents and maybe even will think to take over the family eventually.... or NOT, maybe it is much better that super evil group X or vigilante group Y is kept on the side and now you have two awesome things going. For example, Maer was thinking of joining the Steward faction and at the same time, his goals were to make a tribe that was separate- something he was well on his way to accomplishing. These incredibly well-thought up, amazing factions should not be looked at as a hinderance. They are a boost that adds so much flavor where you get access to things that wouldn't make sense for the everyday gang to get in reach of and you can do what you want to change the faction in various ways.
- Oh, for those that talked about how dull the factions are, etc. Please never, I mean NEVER, complain about not getting dm attention again. Although their focus should not be solely on a faction, it is their way of keeping track of things and dms are to spend a nice amount of times with factions.-

What else? Hrm. Howland's post is good as it will allow you to bounce questions and explain things but stop whining about the new system. Seriously. It urks me how the Kingsman meeting that was DM set up got out of hand. You complain about not having knowledge of what this system is and it being suddenly sprung on you but truth be told, that meeting was made to pretty much EXPLAIN, in a cool IC fashion how the banners worked and what they were. But since no one wanted to listen to that for two seconds (which is alright in an ic for some, but really, I think a lot of you just didn't get it through your heads what the purpose of the meeting was) you whined about the meeting, then when the meeting's purpose is not fulfilled, you whine that you do not have the information that they were TRYING to give you.

You know what else, I can't stand when I see DMs getting pissed off (which I don't mind, as long as they manifest it with fun for others [take what you will from that]) or even worse, disheartened by unappreciative babies. They work pretty hard for US. Not an obligation, they choose to do this so it will be fun and you guys are getting an A+ in sucking that away right now. So congratulations on that front, I'm sure you were aiming for that (yes, sarcasm).

Really, you sound like spoiled idiots sometimes. But that is just me.

I will stop for now, because really, I would hate to go on and be banned for being blatantly correct. Oh, I know this is only a small portion of you (or so it seems) so for the rest of you, kudos and hopefully those sore, red, and irritating asses can stop spoiling our fun.

It'll be interesting to see who feels a need to defend themselves in this thread.

Regardless what you think about this issue, I'm not sure calling people "retarded," "babies," "spoiled idiots," and "asses" is going to be productive.  Can't we just be reasonable and polite with each other?

RIPnogarD

A whining anti-whiner post how quaint.
I say lock it now.

Oroborous

I'd honestly prefer to see the OP temporarily banned for his insults against people who DARE to speak up and share how they feel in an effort to improve the community.

Its attitudes like that that ruin the community for people who actually try to be honest about what is wrong.

Not helping.

Why don't we all just have a time-out, eh?

Thank you for taking an active interest in our server. Please come back again.

Wrong. It was player set up. Then Kingsman stole the show and slapped everyone's faces.

[qoute]Why can't you be in the Malatesta family and be secretly funding a PC faction that you lead with its own goals and intents and maybe even will think to take over the family eventually [/qoute]

That was one of the problems of old EFU- that you could basically reduce all the influential PCs to their faction subgroups. Well, guess what, I don't want to have an insidious merchant. Again.

[qoute]how dull the factions are [/qoute]

Nobody said they were dull. At least, not anybody I can remember. But you all keep interpreting "gee, this faction, while surely interesting from the outside, is not doing enough IC to be visible, and just isn't attracting my particular attention enough for me to go through all the red tape and efforts of joining IC" as "ZOMFG BORING".

[qoute]They work pretty hard for US [/qoute]

I am perfectly aware and very grateful. But that doesn't mean they are infallible, does it? Or that all criticism should be silenced? Or that we should worship them on our bare knees and do everything they tell us to do, always?

[qoute]A+ in sucking that away right now[/qoute]

Not to be an ass, but we work pretty hard to make the server fun too. And events such as the one last night ranked pretty high up there on the scale of "Why PCs shouldn't ever bother giving a damn outside of DM factions".

Not to be an ass, but hey, when someone posts shit down and personal like this, then that's what you get.

Please note who made that post. Thank you. There may have been some miscommunication, but the reaction to this has been grossly absurd. And to be frank, people ruminating in tells, exchanging negativism, saying how bad things are... is really not cool. It was simply an introduction event, and that is all it was. The fact is building a city is tad more complicated, and the system was reflective of that complexity.

This isn't positive or constructive to the health of the server. Dont do it. It's just crazy-talk rumination. Constructive comments would be to make a write-up for a new faction that you find fun and that is well built and designed to promote interesting conflicts.

When people say that things we created aren't good enough or dull, either being scripted quests, areas, NPCs, conversations, items, scripts, stories, factions, systems, or events, and there hasn't been a great many, it tends to be the same old same old few who try to drown everyone-else into their sea of angsty negativity and end up losing credibility or respect while doing so (either by making a angsty good-bye post symbolically refer to as banging the door on the way out), or otherwise.

There are certainly ways to make your message pass in a polite manner and well received manner. If you haven't figured out HOW to do it, this may be a very important life goal for you that will help you in your relationships with others all around the world.

Good luck.
