just a thought, and i meen its not horribly important but it would be good none the less

the way the sending system works at the moment, it shows who is making the sending, which is fine if your not playing the angle of "shadowy guy who doesnt want his name to be known"

the thought is that when making a sending, the Gnome aughta actually repeat the message making it more sneaky for those sneaky sneaky characters.

as i said not horribly important but lowers the amount of OOC info is being freely sent out

You can do this, just pay someone else to make your sending for you. Tada. just thought I'd throw it out there.

Also, announcing a sending to meet a Mr Night, has the same effect when they walk to to Mr Night and see a different name above their head. Both knowledge is OOC. (more or less ooc)

Some of the best sendings ever were sent by PCs disguising their voice IC, and they were sent from the old Underdark system. I don't know what the official ruling is on this, but by and large, if you are making a sending anonymously most players are going to go along with it.

Bottom line, though: if you're saying something over the sending system that requires anonymity, you should probably get a DM.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always interpreted the sending system as if you're hearing the other persons voice in your head. So unless you are acquainted with the person, or they have stated their name in the sending, it should be assumed to be anonymous.

I doubt the honourable, hard-working hin operating the system would be very co-operative about disguising shady folks' voices and other forms of similar deceit.

Neither would the guard.

you meen Gnome?

hmm... theres an idea, make it so you can spend a few extra coins so he can do the talking thus removing any issue, after, he needs the money to help fund his research on the damn thing

It seems like too little for too much work.

Fredoc Hedger's a halfling.
If there was any change made to the sending system, I would suggest adding a short-range one for the Docks in the form of a Town Cryer or something. If the aim's to keep it a more separate entity, then not having to make sendings off the Zig would be handy for Docks concepts that didn't have to rely on quest train groups.
