less Guts, teeth, ichor etc should drop

More of this stuff drops than anyone could ever use.  Animal guts, orc teeth, rat meat, ooze ichor, etc, clutter up the areas too much.
 
I'd suggest setting these items to a 50% or less chance of dropping, or make it so they dissapear after a couple of hours.

Mmmmm... I sort of agree and disagree... would a "selective" clean up script cause too much lag?
 
Considering the "animal parts" for certain recipes, they're 10x more prevalent than the plant or other parts it seems. I'd like such parts to be readily available should we get the other proper parts, but they shouldn't clutter the server too much.
 
Naturally, my comment is vague as to not reveal recipes :D.
 
With all that said, the clutter doesn't bother me all that much, but it should be noted that a lot of this stuff does go unused simply because of a ten to one factor. Everyone keeps offering me orc teeth and I've not the other ingredients rarely to make use of them.

Are the current set of drops causing any real lag? I don't know if it needs to be lessened, but a time-out period might work (though that might be a laggy solution).

I like that these are readily available to crafters. Its the other stuff that should be difficult to get. Killing 100 orcs and getting a single tooth just makes aquiring them a nuissance and makes little sense.
 
As it is, I severely doubt these cause much lag. Quest Areas (where most of these things are dropped, by far) get auto cleaned after the quest is closed. There aren't a whole lot of animal guts/orc teeth lying around the wilds that I see. Most gets picked up.

The only people who don't pick them up in the first place are people who can't fathom the sweetness they can create. If you had even an inkling of some of the sweet stuff you can make you would not be suggesting this imo.

Leave it as it is, but I can think of some stuff in this category that should drop more that I will pester the DMs about later.
