Reduce the Rest Timer?

I'd not agree, I think that only applies on certain high level quests. The odd fireball, slow, summon or Fear is always handy to add. However, it did make me think...

What exactly is the point of the 30 min rest timer? So far as stopping people cheesing rests to "reload" on quests or whatever goes a shorter time would be sufficient. It is always a pain to be going round with a defence/brewing/whatever loadout and then being the only one in the party saying "er.... sorry I need to wait 30 min, just prepped". It doesn't slow down powerquesting as most quests are >30 min and does specifically annoy spell preparing classes.

It's particularly bad when it locks you out of being useful in server events or PVP (that you can see coming) as you have the wrong spells. For example if my Necromancer happens to be carrying Fear, he can't reprepare if Risers attack, even if he's got fair warning. It also reduces the intimidation factor of those classes when if you know they were about to go questing 15 min ago, they're almost certainly NOT set for a fight.

A shorter rest timer would let players change their spell loadout to adapt to an upcoming situation and IMO improve things for anyone playing a Cleric, Wizard or Druid. Not enough that people could go into the wilds, fireball half the webbed woods, then rest and come back for round 2, but enough to allow some flexibility.

I sort of like the rest timer as it is now. It's hard to prepare for anything, and most often the 'preparation' being done is a standard set of spells based on things people know will be on the quest. 30 minutes is not so bad, usually by the time you rest to do anything, and actually get about doing it - You can rest again.

The only downside of the current system in my eyes - Is mispreparing spells before anything. Forgetting to change your spells or assign the proper ones, whathaveyou.

What I would suggest is the ability to rest again, immediately - Provided no spells have been cast and it has been no more than 2 minutes since your last rest.

Rest time has already been reduced between EFU and EFUA. If you pay careful attention, it's only 20 mins now instead of 30. You'll notice, for example, you never get a message telling you to wait "one more hour". Instead, you can rest about a minute into "two more hours".

The problem is not really the time IMO. is the fact you can't stop and rest in SQA areas, therefore even reducing it to 10 mins wouldn't really help Wizards/Sorcerers.

It is fine! Wizards should get some wands/scrolls/potions and always be ready to rumble in pvp and pve. The last two times I have gotten into pvp while playing a wizard I had no spells and it is safe to say that only consumables were enough to win the battle. Do not toss away harpy rings!
