That's a scripted DC 18 disease, that has rapid dmg infliction and deals CHA dmg. In the time it takes to get to a boat, your average sorc or bard can lose all their spells, ruling them out of the Corals quest and boat trips. If it hit and you take any dmg, before you're cured, bang go your high level slots.

Can that disease either be toned down to a normal time progression for a disease, or the Rafter moved to also set out from the Docks, rather than just land there?

No.

Disease should be a potent force in nature, not some, "Oh, DC 12, I can ignore that."

The Beggar

I actually agree with TNVW on this one. There are plenty of alternate routes to each quest. Sometimes the shortest is also the most problematic.

It also reflects IG happenings right now.

Blubie

Disease and infection are scary things.

Hence my second suggestion, to have hm go from the Docks.

The Rafter is also possibly bugged, he doesn't seem to go to every location on his list unless you take it from the sewers. Also, I *think* Coral Cove only shows up there. If not, it's fine, and a walk to Shipwreck Beach isn't the end of the world, just a pain in the arse.

Since it's CH dmg, anyone but a Bard or Sorc will just ignore it and cure later.

Actually on a related note, If Contagion could be scripted to inflict THIS or similar on targets it would actually be a good 4th level spell.

More Plauges! Don't tone them down! SICK the Ymph.

Mort

Chilling in the sewers with no resist-disease should have some consequences.
