Almanac of the Archipelago
by Phebe Herathyza
-A work in progress-

Based upon the scholarly work of the Esteemed Colleagues of the William Bell University.**

May the All-Seeing bless your Eyes as you look upon the truths of the many dangers that linger on this island, be they the heritage of the Netherese or the result of the foolishness of Mortals. She beseeches you to search for the Truth in all things, so that the lies can be untangled and our Minds Enlightened.

This is known.
H’bala the Lich.
The many numbered keys that are spread upon this island keep imprisoned a creature known as H’bala. It often takes the form of a beautiful woman and she searches through dreams and visions for a champion to rescue her from her imprisonment. It is said that she was once a Stargazer woman, but through corrupting of magic became a lich and drove the Druids to the Underdark. The Island of Blight, a place wrought in negative energy, is believed to be a testament to her terrible powers. It is whispered that she covets freedom and revenge and seeks agents and a savior amongst the gullible male population.

The Darkening and Barakat Djaernus
It has been told that the Vampire Barakat Djaernus seeks to complete a ritual known as the Darkening where he shall curse this island in a Never Ending Night allowing the Nightrisers to roam freely without fear of the Morninglord’s rays. Little is known about the True Nature of this ritual or how close the Vampire may be to his goal, but there are those who fear he even seeks godhood and as such he must be considered a terrible foe.
-New information provided by the Ironhalo points Tathus Belpharon, the Transmuter as the Agent behind the Darkening. Very little information about this man is availble.

The Mist
The Mist lies upon this island, an eternal testament to our entrapment. It is said it has the power to grant visions, dreams and glimpses into the future, yet it is uncertain if what it tells is Lies to Misdirect or if it remains the message of the All-Seeing to guide us to the Truth. The Dreamers hail it, the tribal people revere it and the sailors fear it as the Shrouding of Old Port remain a vivid memory of its power to isolate us all.

The Nightrisers.
The Nightrisers remain the most visible of Ziggurat’s heritage. They are oath bound defenders of the Netherese’s Prison Colony, though trough time they have been divided into several factions and it may be so that their true goal now remain obscure. Yet their one desire remains True; to remove all living creatures from the city of Ziggurat. For those who seek more information, this author directs you to look upon the Nightriser’s Compendium: A look at the Undeath in Nebudzznos by Jawl Highwind and more can surley be learned through exploring the many underground tunnels and ruins in the Ziggurat.

Illythiiri Ruins
Very little is known about these vast underground ruins created by the forefathers of the drow. Several doors remain locked and some places can only be reached through portals and magical mirrors. The fate of the settlement remains a mystery, but the destruction and decay of stonework bares testament of abandonment by a once powerful civilization. It is still possible that many of the ancient elven lore and artefacts still lie hidden in these sheltered ruins. This place remains mostly unexplored today, but warning should be given for it is said that spiders and werewolf haunts its place at nightfall.

The Stargazers
Hailed as one of the few indigenous tribes on this island, this civilization is rumored to revert the stars, seeking amongst them wisdom and guidance and are greatly found of cats. Reclusive and shunned by many for their cannibalistic customs, little is known about the tribe that makes their home in the Starwood.

The Demon in the Webbed Woods
Little is known about the demon that fell from the sky, some say it desires godhood and scares people into worshipping it. It is likely the creature that fell from the Red Star that was visible on the sky several days before its arrival.

Mist Kobolds
In the Mountains of Mist lives a vicious tribe of Kobolds that worship the Mist. It is possible that they have connection to a white-skinned woman with the ability to transform herself into a small, black dragonlike creature that surrounds itself with Mist.
