Open Possession of Banner Property

Confusing title...

I was just thinking that it's strange that you must be in a banner to take banner property. Why not allow people to choose? It seems like a fine way to show people in a group or banner that you're interested in them if you're protecting fields, mines, whatever in their name.

On the dialogue, if they are not in a banner faction, say something like...


"You are not in a banner. Would you like to choose a banner to support?"
-Sharboneth
-Order
-Lathanderites
-etc.

Also, banners will be able to hire people out to go take property for them.

I like it.  Would let folks prove their loyalty through a task of protecting an area or the like as part of joining a faction.

If we had a fix amount, this could work but we dont. Joe Schmoe can create his own banner at any time or any day.

Allow people to use the text recognition then?

And as a side note, how do you create a banner faction? Guild registration only?

Seems a lot of work for little benefit. If you support the banner, become part of it, I guess.

Even then, what about the common ones? Order, Stygians, Sharboneth...
