Hello little friends,

It just so happens that I busted my laptop computer and now I'm waiting for it to get fixed, as in waiting for parts to arrive from the far away civilization. Until then, all I have is my Playstation3, which can supply me with many of my needs, EFU not being one of them. It can take a week before you see Brovy Thiilx around again, and for that I apologize.

A few folks have met me already on Emelyn.  I used to play back on EFU and EFUA using a different name, and recently got the urge to start playing EFU again.  Been a good couple weeks so far!

I'll be leaving the server for time undetermined. I feel like I've cocked it up once too many times already adventuring IG, and if people aren't getting fed up with me, I'm getting fed up with myself. Mostly I put up with my shortcomings in player skill and character build because I enjoyed the roleplay we all produced together, and even that gradually faded away as people lost interest in their characters and left loose strands all around.

While I won't deny I've woken up feeling extremely salty (sorry I_love_cats; and while we're at it sorry VicariousOmnipotence and pof MInamoto, I'm a shit), looking back and reviewing Gillian's path, I can't help but feel a certain tragic closure as he fell to the very first enemy he made (yes, he's the #1 public enemy, but let's not get ahead of ourselves!) in short order after a DM event that mirrored how he entered into play. The clumsy pally had an interesting peripheral role in ridding the Watchers of Odelstad, so it's fitting his death serves as a prologue for Odelstad's new villainous plan.

And I'm glad I forked over near 2000 gold on someone's rez. Haha, no phat lewts for ya cunt.

Also, you fellows love playing late into your night, which is late as fuck into my night, and I really need to graduate Uni this year... Bad combo.

​It was lots of fun rping with Gillian, and I can understand where you're coming from I myself have been a bit down lately that everyone who I used to play with dissapeared over such a short time. Some due to the Odelstad thing, but a large amount of them also disappeared for other unknown or known reasons. Have fun and hope to see you on efu at a later date. I'd just like to express how greatly I enjoyed roleplaying with your character (I play Arantras, the elven scholar) even though it was only really the one prolonged interaction. I would like to say there is definitely a place for a player such as yourself within the EFU community, because EFU is not about the mechanics of a computer game even if for some players it may be more so than others. It is about the stories we weave together and the enjoyment derived through all the nuances of characterisation, roleplay and yes the occasional gameplay triumphs.

I remember poignantly how your character spoke about losing friends, in reaction to the sentiment you share about people losing interest in their characters. To which I will add response following another quote:

Real life is and should be a priority. I know it is for me. And this is why Arantras is not the most active of PCs, because I simply can't be in-game all the time. Some of the players of the characters that yours lost touch with would fall into the same boat and I'd go so far as to advise you do indeed put preference in your studies first and foremost.

With that said, I would encourage you not to leave the community outright. EFU rewards those who stick to it through thick or thin, whether it be harsh in-character/in-game circumstances or just taking the opportunity to continue what you enjoy (engaging roleplay!) and not worrying so much about the critics (everyone has an opinion.) There are also some unwritten rules in the community which can only be discovered and adapted to through experience/time.

So I just got bumped from 25 hours a week to 42 on strange hours with my job so I'll most likely be fading in and out for a couple weeks while I try to get my bearings on a new sleeping schedule and what not.
