In Mistlocke...
H'Bala waits at the very doorsteps of the village. Little remains to stop her from consuming the last bastion of civilization with her curse. The tension is unbearable as everyone waits for the Mist to retreat and H'Bala making her last brutal attack.

In the meantime...
The Delving spits out monstrous bandits who prey on the adventurers weary from constant fighting the moment they leave Mistlocke. With promise of diplomacy, these creatures are trying to find their place among the other denizens of Ymph.

Somewhere else...
The Warden of Nebezzdos calls out to mortals, tempting them to do his bidding under the guise of working against H'Bala, promising power in exchange for loyal service.

And trapped on an island of treachery, misfortune and damnation, a band of Tel'Quessir forms a group with steel resolve and unbreakable morals, calling to others with goodly intent to unite under a single banner.

On creation:
A small band of elves not attracted by the riches and opportunities a land in strife and turmoil offers found themselves isolated from others because of their race or firm belief and soon became a minority in a very less drastic society.
Growing tired of humans and their insatiable hunger for power, these elves decided it's up to them to show humans how it's done.
And so the Night Guard was created.

On race:
Any race is acceptable with possible difficulties joining IC. Elves are generally very welcome, other non-humans are accepted and humans not-so-much accepted with exceptions.

On alignment:
Largely depending on how the alignment is represented, though generally good is welcomed, neutral accepted and evil very likely not if all roleplayed blatantly.

On class:
Absolutely any, with exceptions you could expect from a good-aligned faction. Though a Blackguard of Corellon does sound cool, no?

On goals:
It is absolutely a primary goal to oppose the Maiden without any compromises. Forge alliances, make tons of enemies and displeased individuals on the way and strike a blow against H'Bala that she will remember fondly even after our passing. (or a blow that she won't ever wake up from)

Oppose the New Delving and its masters. That's right. We won't wage war only against H'Bala, but those two giants as well. This isn't no Warhammer, dwarves and elves can totally be best friends here. So if you thought about making a dwarf and chasing the giants out, this faction is open to non-elves as well.

Anti-Seven steps of Sanq. Because Corellon doesn't like undead, after all. So we all from the NG agree that fighting H'Bala by helping another evil entity is a baaad idea. Or do we?

And lastly, no group is an actual group without getting beautiful headquarters with bear rugs, mannequins and boxes with expensive cigars. Maybe we can force the goblins out of the granary and refurnish the whole place.

On HAYADTTSOOAHF (How are you any different than the storm of other anti-H'Bala factions):
It's really simple. Let's say grandma Annie is hungry and her five grandsons decide it is their mission to feed her.
Joe figures the best way to achieve this is to steal the bread from the local bread store.
Bob is smarter than that, though. Instead, he arranges a deal with a local smuggler who gives him a poisoned loaf of bread in exchange of 1/3 of grandma's family gold.
Steve is a completely different fellow, though. He is a righteous boy and so he decides to conquer a nearby orc toy camp and take all their bread and gives it to his grandma.
Carl asks a friend who asks another friend and for a favour for a favour the friend of a friend agrees to bring the bread from his own home.
Alan doesn't know what the hell is going on so he just goes and buys the bread.

Different approaches with the same outcome, yielding different circumstances once you reach the result. Some of them might help each other out, some of them might fight over the right to feed their grandma... who knows?

I hope that cleared it up!

Conclusion?
If there ever was a time to make a badass elf, it's now. Though naturally as it is, if you have a goblin you want to bring along for the witch-burning trip, feel free to try and talk to us...

Perfection

Is this still...a thing?

My character would truly relish the camaraderie of the kindred.

Plus it's awesome to see elves actually being elves.

Proud, disdainful and all that--justifiably of course.

icusmile

I believe this is dead.

The leader of the group died.

This may be pretty much over but there are a lot of elves now and I think there is a new public poster for another PC doing something with the elven people on Ymph.
