just so you know the link that explains how to apply for stuff appears to be broken. As everytime i attempt to read it i get an error message.

The FAQ, which has still not been moved (and won't for another while) doesn't explain how to apply for stuff. It's meant to explain what not to apply for, among other things. The page that explains how to apply for stuff ("Applications") is working just fine.
