There comes a time when the tall are saved by the small, where large hearts come out first, where brawn and muscle fail. They prefer a pipe and a good mug of ale, but do not hesitate to pick up sling and sword to defend their earthy homes. Natural Born adventurers when Wanderlust takes them, they are of the strongest hearts and of the bravest weal, and few things will deter a determined halfling.

I am glad that you have come to read this thread, my friends, for you and I have words to share.

What is a halfling? They are the small folk, natural adventurers in ruins and caverns, hard to spot, and a damn good shot with a sling. Few places in Faerun, nay the multiverse, have yet to be treaded by halfling steps, for in their furry feet, comes bearing a heart of laughter, and a love of tales and adventure.

Why make one? Halflings as a whole are a hardy, industrious race, and no trade has gone unexplored by them, lightfoot and strongheart are as versatile as human beings, and perhaps mechanically speaking, only slightly weaker.

Halflings make natural rogues and bards, and their pantheon gives a wide variety of concepts one can base this off of. however, Halflings are in fact -so- diverse, a few have taken to worshipping human deities such as Tymora (Though according to halflings, she is a child of Yondalla.) Each halfling village has a Patron God, and they believe that god favors them more than any other halfling deity! Family, friendship, and trust are the three values that make up halfling communities.

However, my premise here is to encourage you to make -any- halfling, even ones of Hoar (That'll be interesting!) to an evil pale master halfling.

They are truly a unique and diverse race to behold, and you can get on it as well. If you wish more information, throw me a PM.

Thanks!

The Crimson Magician

i think they have halfling prostitutes

that's pretty diverse in my book

In the docks...and they charge EXTRA! ;)

Yeah, let us all make a halfling, because 'halflings are the best' ... Then we change the name of Ziggurat to 'The Shire' ... Have parties every night ...

bah ...

Luke Danger

Set off Dragon Fireworks too? Inside a party tent, no less?

Halfling's are awesome.
Essentially have the same amount of possibliites of concept without the "Tank Fighter" build. Which I can understand that some of you would dislike.

Halflings and gnomes can get the most ac on efu, fact.

They can but the strength penalty on halflings make them an unpopular choice I've found.

Huh

Odd you made that deduction.

My halfling bard was hitting for 19 dmg a hit with his bastardsword.

What's with you guys and AC anyways ... Gees ... You are trying to promote a race because of its aswesome mechanical features?  (halflings are actually broken in my opinion, compared to other standard races)

Blubie

Anyway, Halflings aren't the "best" race at all. To be honest, I prefer Dwarves (and I primarily only play Halflings).

But, Thomas and I are going to be pumping effort into organizing and rocking a Halfling faction, and we think it'd be much more fun with a bunch of players running around with us.
We aren't looking for another Blue Meanies, however.

Both Thomas and I are playing characters who adventure for religious purposes, and we'd like a few people to do it with. So followers of Brandobaris, Tymora and maybe Shaundakul would be awesome, if anybody would like to make them.

Cheers.

Soooo..Thomas IS Champion of Brandoboy!!! Your evil plot exposed young thomas!

((ON topic, I could be wrong, but I remember a halfling barb/bard that was nigh unstoppable in the underdark for a time, pretty sure she was a hin))
