As people have noticed, colony-sendings and DM shouts are now readable in #efu in IRC.

This is sort of an experiment, but I'm curious what people think about it.

Good? Annoying? Bad? Neutral?

TheMoonlightBecomesYou

I like it, personally. It seems like something that can/will be exploited as a PG Radar, however.

What I don't understand, is that people don't all have Ziggurat tokens, so this is a freebe for them to show up at the right place, right time.

Further, I think sendings and shouts are done very seldom, so it shouldn't overwhelm too much. All in all I like it.

Cruzel

I personally am outraged at all these new scripting additions. How dare you take my perfectly comfortable gaming experience and try to make it better, Jerks.

It is appalling you would think that the playerbase could make use of a system that would ease questing, meetups, and merchantile affairs and other various things.   Utterly apalling.

I hope you are alll ashamed of yourselves.

Staring Death

Shouts might be good. But maybe not all of them. Perhaps there could be a switch on and off on shouts?

Sendings... well, I dislike the idea, as most of the time, they're used for quests, and people will log in to quest only. It feels more like an instrument for powergaming to me.

ExileStrife

I am pretty sure that most shady players already lurk in their IRC channels, and when their in-game buddies see a quest or interesting DM shout starting they'll report to IRC getting their friends to come in.  Interested parties always seem to appear 'out of nowhere' during this stuff and it's the only explaination I can account for.

This change makes it so everybody has a chance at least, not just the people with networks of friends in hidden irc channels.

artfuldodger99

Sounds good to me Howland

Talir

Would it perhaps be better to have all these sendings and shouts in a seperate channel?

Szgk

I agree with Talir on this one.

Random_White_Guy

I like it the way it is.

I can't count the times I've been sitting around bored on IRC and doing other things on the internet, and missed some cool RP, or someone asking about a plot I was involved in, only to miss out.

I say leave it in #EFU, personally. I've got enough IRC channels, but I like having it there.

IxTheSpeedy gives two thumbs up.

Jasede

Really good addition.

Snoteye

It has been suggested by a number of parties that these be forwarded to a separate channel. I see merit in that, and have to admit I've actually found myself very annoyed with the current setup today.

Disco

I do not like it. When I am not IG I dont need to know that a party for Trogs is forming, IMO it is only filling up IRC with unneeded text.

Because so much of IRC is useful text? >_>

Its like 3-5 lines, max. Not the end of the world I don't think
