I disagree with Stranger when it comes to the challenge rating of that quest, as it has a high potential for snowballing into a party wipe, but I think the reward on it is mostly fine. It was increased once in recent memory: the long walk is what makes it a bit less desirable. Comparing it to Bloodtusk Marauders reward-wise is moot, since that quest is probably one of the least balanced one when it comes to rewards on EFU atm - the scale is just tipped into a different direction than what it is with many others.

He fizzled out. I started to lose time and to lose interest, thus, toward the end I hardly played Micah. Now it has been close to two months, so I figure it is a good time to retire him - a part of me wanted to get back to him only to try 64, but honestly, I don't think that would've been a good idea.

Micah saw his inception in me wanting to try to play a cleric, but as I had a profound dislike for religious RP, I made him be a spin of deism. Nine-Faced God was a good choice to make, as it was quite far removed from conventional religion to begin with. He believed in universal constants that made for the world, and acknowledged the existence of other gods, but considered them to just be powerful creatures with a capability to see and bend the nine universal truths.

Micah considered "Nine-Faced God" to be a state of being, in which one would perceive all the Nine Faces in one, a state in which one would be free of physical and mental constraints, and simply be aware of everything. However, that'd mean being aware of everyone else's consciousness, and so it would come with a loss of sense of self. It was his aspiration. He was heading for Baz'eel for a reason that's not really a big spoiler, but it  could be considered a minor one, so I won't mention it here. Ultimately, he would've ringran to the presumed center of the City. He, in his own way, was very unscrupulous and would subtly guide, push and manipulate people in ways that'd further his own ends, and had quite grey morals.

I wish I had written more, and I had started to, but never managed to publish more than one book as a work of his.

I want to thank everyone who was part of his journey, but I cannot really begin to list all of you, since it was a lengthy one. I made him at the start of the summer, coming off of Veit, and played him actively into November - so about half a year. Special thanks to each of you who ringran with me. It was a blast with our very weird and dysfunctional group!  Anyway, here's some screenshots.

Sheet, at peak while fully self-buffed. These were all the things I could provide at no real cost, but it did require setup. So there was no true strike, bard song or wizard shenanigans:
[hide][/hide] But generally, iirc he would walk around at approx 20 ab with the longer lasting buffs, and quest at 23-25 and burst above a few times.

He had one piece of loot. Thanks HB!

Here's a full dump of unorganized screenshots. Sadly I had to exclude a lot for various reasons, be it dialogue or locale. He kept... a rather curious company, as you might be able to discern from the screenshots. Worst of them all must be the gnomes...

The underwater explorable with Skipper Jon Soggyboots contained this item:

Having heard that Spellcraft bonus only applies on the first check as well, I imagine it is because after the first tick, it no longer recognizes it as a spell for whatever the reason.

The voice of reason in our group, who sadly was not listened to often enough, haha. I greatly enjoyed the special bond and shared secret between her and Huckleberry in the months following events of Pallid Palace, as well as the many hijinks that were had!

If I app to play as an animal, can I be a hobo druid who shapeshifts into a human to blend in with society and just barks at people?

Can confirm this. The guy poofed on me thrice, and I have heard he has done that to others too.

There have been attempts to uplift Little Ticker before, but from the look of it, they did not get off the ground for a longer time.  The intent this time around would be to better recreate Ticker Square atmosphere within Little Ticker, with my character being a heavy believer in the founding values of Tickertown .

Just like last time, part of the intent in this would be to give non-humans a better place within the Peerage, and an alternative for characters that are more akin to commoners than Peerage socialites. There's room for entrepreneurs of all sort, mercenaries, careerists, and so on.

My character, Veit Sterling, has been declared as the mayor with the endorsement of Glitt, but I want this to be a collaborative effort. To that end, my character sees himself as more of a foreman and spokesperson. There's a lot of room for other people to try and push their own related agenda.

The current publicly outlined goals of my own character:

  • Intent to shift the majority of peddling from Oakrest to Little Ticker
  • Investment into Blackjacks in order to turn them into a more trustworthy, and slightly less corrupt force within Little Ticker that will not simply balk at the sight of retainers
  • Bringing back the random NPC merchants of Ticker Square to Little Ticker
  • General improvement of the locale

... but the list will expand in detail as time goes on, and there are things that are obviously not spoken in whispers because the Houses might get upset.

In the long run, the goal would be to detach Little Ticker from Glitt and have it gain a level of independence along with political and financial power comparable if not greater than that of a House.

I am looking for players with all kinds of concepts that want to participate in political and financial shenanigans, as well as general tomfoolery. I'm not good at suggesting concepts for others, but there are tons that go, from merchants to Phanaxians, to Blackjacks, to aspiring guild masters, to bankers, to conmen, to people wanting to take over the Weeping Flagon, to any nonhumans, to muscle, and so on. Anything you think fits, probably fits.

There's the possibility of conflict with at least some of the great Houses, and the other fledgling PC faction, which I suggest you check out as well because it is cool.

As a final note, I have not tried to get factions off the ground in EFU before, so I cannot guarantee what comes out of this nor that my personal playstyle is fun for others. However, I do get invested in my own characters. Either way, if you do decide to get involved, what I guess I am trying to say is that I am not confident in my ability to create fun for pure henches, so make sure it is something you want to play and are excited for!

QuoteAlignment: Non-Lawful will most likely have an easier time. Blatant evil will probably not work out.
Races: Non-monstrous
Class: Non-druids

Thanks for the read. Feel free to poke me in Discord or IG.

What a ride it was. Ups, and downs, but a lot of fun.

Thank you for all who interacted with me, and to those who ringran with me. There's been a lot across the months, so I will not start naming people one by one. I appreciate you all.

I generally play only humans, so Huckleberry was a foray to something I don't do. My idea was to create the best crossbow(half)man, since people diss on the weapon so much. I got a lot of sneers in the start about how the build is nothing but a meme that won't work, but it ended up doing fine, albeit much of it is thanks to the loot I received over his lifetime.

As a character, I aimed to play a young, careless, reckless halfling with little thought to the consequences of his actions, lacking an ability to make wise decisions. He started out that way, but toward the end grew a bit more gloomy over the constant losses he endured as friends kept dying left and right.

Some little things on top of my mind, other than being swallowed by 64:
- Gambling away at the Feast before understanding the rules, because the first item presented happened to be a crossbow. He received it, losing his necklace and becoming old. For a long time, he stubbornly claimed he had won, when in heart he knew he didn't. Regaining his youth became the focus for his ringrunning, chasing after rumored ways to cure his affliction, be it Mistlevale Cider, Ring 1, or participating in the Draft Tournament for clues.
- Before ringrunning he was involved in the attempt to restore the Old Harbor with the Fairway Crew, as well as being an active member of the Reformed Beggar's Guild.
- Continuing on the subject, 99 spins on the Wheel of Fire. I wanted to make the hundredth a spectacle, but I ended up delaying it constantly: it never happened. Probably still the record for most spins!
- Survival from multiple events, perhaps most notably YMD's Necropolis, which ended up being very character-defining. He wished to save those who were left behind by defeating Pallid Prince, and in specific Elene - whose death he felt responsible for, yet who had saved them from the prison that was Pallid Palace.
- Became the champion of the Spinning Groat arena; with a crossbow at that.
- Efforts to help the Steadings, in the form of aiding Nadine to cook a 1000 meals, participating in the looting and pillaging of Endless Feast, and defending it from the Ghyl and other foes on multiple occasions.
- He had the biggest crush on Angela Haust, keeping mementos of her until his own demise.
- He fought the goblin menace alongside the other halflings, during the second big rush of hins during his lifetime. Good times.
- While often accused of being a friendlyman, he never shied away from speaking his mind to Retainers nor turning them down. I guess since it didn't usually quite erupt into PvP, people still like to throw that word around.
- A halfling no stranger to regicide, he fought The King of the Keysnatchers, and an undead called the Underking.

Unbuffed at the end. Surprisingly good saves:

The sheet does not show size bonus and PBS, so 19/14 most of the time.

I did not take screenshots of his peak condition, but here are the better ones:

I know people are more interested in loot than build or screenshots, so let's start with those before screenshots from along the journey, in the order of acquisition.

Crossbow, received from the short Feast. Thanks, abala!

Now, perhaps the most interesting piece ... a set of child-sized finery, somewhat resembling that of Sunpurse garb. Only a couple voiced the familiarity, nobody pushed it.  ;) from YMD's Pallid event.

The unique power was to let his own blood into a vial. It is why he became a bit anemic, as reflected in his description.

A little change came forward after fighting the Underking. Thanks Skaghunter:

That's all the loot, I think.

And then some screenshots from across the journey. I did not take as many as I should have; something I always forget. There's still about eighty, so for now, I will post Imgur album, and might edit the more significant ones in with titles later.

Thanks all! I will take a bit of a break, most likely, but will be back.

Loved him! Hin shenanigans have been some of my favorite moments on Huck.

She was a blast to play with and developed a lot along the course. I think you made her around the same time I made Huck, we got to interact a lot. Was a blessing to run rings and do shenanigans with you!

Good luck on your second, looking forward to seeing what will come!

Had a great time with Alaric on Sigebert and Huckleberry. He would have been such a different character if I sold you that helmet you so wanted...

I loved Angela, well done! I did not really have a reason nor chance to interact with her much on my earlier PC, so when I rolled Huckleberry, him being a fan of hers was a decision from the very beginning. Highly charismatic and a good performer should have a lot of fans, and not just naysayers! Great celeb crush, shame to see her go.

I remember a lot of nice and comical scenes, like the halfling asking for a tuft of hair, to lending her a bedroll, to receiving a backpack from her with her signature sewn on it, but I took screenshots of none. (Backpack lives on in the description, though!) Looking forward to whatever you cook up next, your characters are always very unique.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Enos Athalhart
December 05, 2020, 03:20:05 PM
After Sigebert's death, I wanted to try something very different, and Enos was that.

Originally, he believed that the Lord Departed and the King were one and the same and that he had been personally chosen and granted his sorcerous powers by that entity. He believed that it was his purpose to become an image of God whilst traveling to the innermost ring to see the Lord Departed back in full.

He did not originally believe Nephezarim to descend from any celestial source, but over the course of the past weeks and months, his views changed on that. He befriended multiple Nephezarim, and ended up joining them on a Pilgrimage to the center of the city. After lengthy persuasions, he ended up joining the House properly.

There were a lot of ups and downs in motivation during the time I played the character, but all-in-all, it was a great experience. There are far too many people to name and thank personally, but I am especially grateful to all the Pilgrims for making the run enjoyable, you guys were a big reason why I was never really bothered by my numerous exp losses. Oh, and I do have to mention Thayans - you guys made a great antagonist for him, big kudos. It started with price competition!

This is what peak performance looks like
