Not a bad idea, maybe have something similar to wildshaping, where buffs your companion gets are based on cha, or wis, or a mix of both even (Since thats a very dicey stat spread)

General Discussion / Re: The MMOization of EFU
April 29, 2019, 01:44:19 AM
I love EFU, I really do, and I adore this chapter, but RWG raises good points. Given it was decided that EE deaths are not refundable (I've had it helped once or twice, and thank you bunches to those <3) to my knowledge at least commonly, and how much progress at a certain point becomes a matter of luck and difficult at times organization, deaths cause more stress than any previous chapter to me I can say.
Chapters 2-4 if you died and got dropped to 5-6 and below, it was far more recoverable than presently

Previous chapters also didnt have the many issues that have come with EE, so deaths happened a lot more often naturally, and properly. I've not had a single PC yet this chapter that hasn't died 2+ times to EE crashes, and it is admittedly a big part of why I've been struggling to stick to a concept myself, because many quests have their take limits, and many of the casual xp grinds to 6, also have their limit not based on level. Eventually you reach a point where recovery from deaths is well, a lot more stress to play than just not to play. Ultimately it is said many times, we play this game to have fun. And while I have always supported EFU's death system, minus a few rants here or there when i was expectedly upset from deaths, but lately with the EE issues, not poor decision, or unpreparedness, I struggle to even hit 6, let alone maintain or advance beyond that point. Many may not be suffering these issues, but does that mean those who do just have to play with a massive disadvantage and deal with it because it isnt everyone's problem?

That I have to prepare excessively constantly when leaving any safe settlement zone, for the sole reason I have to plan on the likelihood of crashing just feels, off. Because this graphic insta EE crashes, or the area loading EE'd, while at minimum graphics possible, And even then, still die frequently, lose all my item buffs, cutting duration of others, losing all summons, losing all undead in crucial moments. Not gonna lie, there have been many multiple crash occasions where I saw my characters hp was at like, 3, or full, but i know i crashed at a battle point and i was reliant upon many factors beyond my control that are now gone, or unable to defend me, that I didn't wanna log back in, and considered just waiting for a reset because to log in is to basically die, knowing that the likelihood of getting a fair return or anything equivalent to what was lost, isn't going to happen. And that feels so OOC it hurts, which is why I haven't, but its  getting to the point where while I adore and appreciate the setting, playing in it has been more stress than anything else, for things that aren't my fault, but I have to deal with anyways while having to compare and stand up to those without these issues.

Just thinking, with the new setting type and all, some new corpses for animation might not be a terrible idea, if anyone has time or motivation for it. Some Idea's?:

-Alligator Corpses
-Lizardfolk Corpses
-Giant Rat Corpses
-Hound/Dog Corpses

Bug Reports / Alchemy Permadeath Bug
April 27, 2019, 12:55:34 PM
Noticed on one of my former alchemists that if you draw blood right before doing alchemy, hence taking damage, and this is common for alchemists to do during to get more (can be circumvented by just not drawing any blood during alchemy however)

If you do so, if you get hit with many of the possible killing outcomes, if you die from it, since the last thing to do damage to you, was yourself, it seems the alchemy system as its cast from an object and not a person instantly tags the death on the alchemist, which results in a permadeath from being killed by a PC, yourself.

Suggestions / Grace period after stabilizing
April 27, 2019, 05:07:54 AM
Okay, to start this off, i've repeatedly died to stabilizing then dieing as soon as I get back up. As in, I recover at like, -6, and as soon as I stand up, after waiting that forever to recover, they smack me down instantly because they hovered over my body. It used to be that you had a few moments after getting back up to run or heal, or do anything, but lately, as soon as I get up, no time to even heal before I get smacked back down. Can we please return the grace period? Otherwise stabilizing is pointless unless your in a group, and yes I know, we SHOULD travel with a group, but if your playing a concept that doesnt exactly permit it, or timezones, or any feasible reason why we must solo, stabilizing is utterly pointless. This keeps happening to me, and I keep waiting out the stabilizing process, only to get knocked down and die before I can even pop a healing trinket, not even a potion.

Its frustrating, and I know EFU plays on hardmode, but whats the point of stabilizing if your outside of a group?

Only thing ive noticed that is a little iffy (though it benefits me massively i must add) is the unlimited resistance, yes the DR has been lowered, but a +1 to saves for 2 turns unlimited you can keep up is nothing to shrug at, for an already high save it can make people who rely on DC casters, like enchanters and such or illusionists, or necromancers have an even harder time than they already do. Especially if pfa is up and its a will save. I had pfe up and reisstance against a sound burst yesterday had a +30 to my will save, and while resistance isnt going to make much a difference, i feel it does really, and its also made neutral DC casters kind of essential if anyone can tell your alignment, or get lucky and guess, and see the difference in saves, knowing what to use against you next time for protection from alignment spell which basically makes you immune to will save spells, rather than just mentally influencing magic.

Suggestions / Re: Nerf Taunt
February 25, 2019, 03:27:59 AM
Can confirm its not a full round action. I've seen it used to deadly effect in-between attacks to get it off while they cant strike you back flat-footed, and then your taunted and they resume next round with full APR. Its immensely powerful, but its also quite the investment, concentration gear is prevalent, its a con skill so melee types already get a nice bonus there if they invest well, and its a main skill for all melee classes too.
However, a nerf wouldnt be a bad idea, then again, at the same time, ive used it various times only to take 1 AC off and half the time it doesnt work. Without investment in SF taunt, or taunt gear, its not as OP as many think initially, but with the right build (given taunt also requires CHA, which is not a melee investment most times) it can be pretty effective.

The problem with keystones I'd think is quite simple to see actually.. If they bind to our pc's flesh, how then, can we pry them from npc's? When certainly the keystones would have bound to their flesh. Might wanna think that over a bit.. But uh, if they can be -cut- from another npc's skin- pc's as well.. Now that might.. be a good explanation and propose a solution to that conundrum, as well of course, proposing interesting conflict potential for the more evil oriented ringrunners.

Off-topic Discussion / Re: EFU:R Leaving/Returning Posts
December 16, 2018, 09:55:47 PM
Hey guys. Because of my increasingly worsening physical and mental health, I'm stepping away from EfU until the next chapter, or when I decide to return. It's been a great chapter, but due to certain circumstances, lost motivation to continue my character and group concept. I'm sorry to everyone who was involved with Ssrinaptos, but things go as they do sometimes. If you need to contact me about anything, or need something resolved concerning Ssrinaptos let me know, I can hop on to finish a thing or two up, but I will not be active for the current time being, and starting January, won't be logging on at all until the chapter has finished up. Holidays anyways, gonna be busy.
Cheers everyone, and may ~revelations~ continue to unfold in the coming end times,

SC knows whats up, double recommend on all of his. Black company hands down one of the best reads. Steven kings the dark tower series is also amazing for a blend of magic, unique mysticism, and outer planar elements while maintaining a modern feel and connection to the modern world, can be a bit of a drag for a bit, but getting through is amazingly good.
Also, the inheritance series, all four books, amazing series, but depressing end. Amazing, my favorite series
The dune series, all of them, i particularly recommend the house series written by the OG authors son, and the butlerian jihad series, amazing science fantasy in every element of the word

Introductions and Group Management / The Circle Of Thorns
November 26, 2018, 12:09:25 PM
The Circle Of Thorns
--
Player Faction:
--
"We have failed. And now, we must do, what must be done"
--
--
The circle of thorn's, led by an unknown individual, is a gathering of nihilistic, and darker druids, cultists, and tribals of the darker aspects of the natural world. Following the belief that the world has failed it's chance at current life, must now be returned to it's primordial stages, the elements, and nothingness, in their eyes, the rot. In the end, all must die to pave the way for the pure and innocent world to take its place. Their favored tools tend to be the elements, and all manners of natural world powers and creatures, along with divine aid from an apparent "Heresy Of Moander". While they do not by all appearances seemed to have forsaken their oath. Their views very much seem similar to many druidic aspects within the covenant of the pure, only, while debatable, darker approach to the rebirth of the world, encompassing all aspects of nature in the form that they view most raw, and pure. Striking violently against any in their way, they appear to focus their attention on cultivating the ley for their beliefs, and preparing the many places of the natural world for the prophecy of the divine among them, which will bring a new cycle, along with hunting down all sources of undead, and abberant kind.

Recommended Alignment: Any Evil, lawful would have a hard time however. Good will not survive the coming end times. Among neutral alignments, CN could work, though there will be many heavy evil elements that may influence them. The same goes for TN. Any kind of law is going to be doing a lot of hair pulling to be honest.
--
--
Recommended Race: ANY, as long as your not aberrant, or undead, out outer planar (sorry my planar dudes) you can hop on this bandwagon, recommended? Human, Elf, Lizardfolk (would require app), Myconid (if you can get it passed i guess), elemental or other natural force Genasi (app). You get the picture.
--
Recommended Class: Druid, Sorcerer, Barbarian, Cleric (RG too if you want to possibly follow the heresy)Other classes can join really, if you can put a spin on a evil nature wizard, or want to be a cleric of moander, RG of the heresy, evil nature fighter, whatever you can think of, as long as your not a paladin, or a priest of any other faith than moander or the heresy, you'll be alright so long as you can weave a cool concept for it!
--
--
Rot Druids are -heavily- encouraged, and eventually all druids who join, are expected to eventually app for such, it is possible from IG occurrences, that it may even be required at one point. It is an app, and stated a hard app to pass, but this is majorly intended to become a major rot druid circle with its many other members serving as their guardians and enforcers. We will be apping for a lair, and it will be used to fuel this player faction. And I warn, this player faction has hefty player faction goals, and will indubitably and most heavily involve a lot of conflict, a lot. We may even get squashed out fast as soon as the faction emerges fully, however, thats the risk of playing evil hard. Come join us, we are already working in game, and there are a growing amount of us. Hit me up on Discord if your interested (NecroDude in the channel)

I'm not the only lowbie who has transitioned into the low roads, a relatively common traveling area no matter your level and been destroyed in seconds by a haste, and serious chugging 4 apr elite piece of bullcrap as a level 6, which, even if i tried fighting, would kill me anyways without their sneak attacks- oh and I was fully buffed too. These NPC's are redundant without Magnatz's blood bounty. Let's please remove these NPC's which are the cause of so much grief and anger among the lower level community, thank you.

Bug Reports / Darkness causing summon hostility
September 22, 2018, 06:46:43 AM
An old time bug, is there anyway to prevent casting darkness from causing all your summons or undead to suddenly turn violent on you? its even worse when they can see through the darkness, because they instantly bombard you, it can be quite lethal to a caster.
